The University Baptist & Brethren church will host its 41st Alternative Christmas Fair. The congregation will help raise funds for local charities and encourage guests to purchase donations in others’ names as holiday gifts. Inside the church’s Fellowship Hall, guests can snack on cider and cookies while browsing charity displays, chatting with representatives and potentially providing donations, which are payable by cash, check or credit card. Lunch will also be available at the church for $10 or less.
Attendees have the opportunity to learn more about 30 different local national, and international (mostly local), charities in one space! In the past, it has been a gift to witness the interaction of over 30 charities with a community who supports them through interest and donations. From children choosing teacher gifts to loved ones being honored, the Alternative Christmas Fair provides an opportunity to live out our values of service, simplicity, justice, and compassion.
The 41st Fair will be held in person on Sunday December 3 from 10:30 am to 2 pm, at UBBC, 411 South Burrowes Street, State College PA 16801.
