Below is some additional information regarding controlled burns in the state of Colorado.

Helpful advice from a local fire department!

On Friday, June 3, 2022, Governor Jared Polis signed into effect the "Darcy's Last Call Act," making it illegal to not report your controlled burn or agricultural burn. If you are doing a controlled burn in Logan County, Colo., call 970-522-3512 to report it.

Forecast winds for tomorrow may pose serious risk to you and your property. Below are some precautions you can take today:

1. Secure your patio furniture and other loose items. If you cannot safely anchor an item, bring it inside.

2. Avoid parking directly under trees. If you have any tree branches touching your house, consider safely trimming them before the storm arrives.

3. Make sure your emergency preparedness kit is stocked. This can include batteries, flashlights, blankets, non-perishable food and a portable charger for your cell phone.

Remember, the safest place to be during a windstorm is indoors away from windows.
