The kiln is located in Monterey, MA and was built by the potter. Bizen restaurant was created by the potter to use Michael's handmade ceramics for food presentation. As a high school senior student with a passion for the arts and interest in teaching, Brooke found her perfect match taking on a Teaching Assistant Intern role at Berkshire Art Center. Throughout the past six months working alongside students in our summer art camps and after-school programs, Brooke has learned new skills such as book binding, puppet making and clothing design, which she then helped teach to children of all different ages. In collaboration with MassHire's Berkshire Workforce Board, Brooke received additional work readiness experience while interning with Berkshire Art Center this summer, which made her feel more confident in her abilities to teach and allowed her to make connections with students, faculty and staff. Day 4 of “Yours for the Making” camp! We used old book covers to make #travelersjournals. A #travelersjournal is a #sketchbook with removable signatures. So when you fill up the signature, you slide it out and put in a new one. This project is advanced and these campers showed perseverance and initiative throughout the day.
