🗣 Let's go a little deep for a moment..(mini story)⬇️⬇️⬇️
**If i'm being honest, this is the very thing that I grew up seeing more and more of within my own family on my maternal side, and as I got older, it just got worse. The "separations" and the "playing of favorites" also helped fuel some of my childhood trauma and depression. I started over compensating, people pleasing and putting others before myself and often myself on the back burner. I would say yes to things that I didn't wanna, and I allowed myself to be bullied into doing things that I didn't want to do. I also stayed in relationships/friendships longer than I probably should have and tolerated things that I didn't deserve because I didn't feel like I was worthy enough, or deserving; I was afraid That the people that I loved would leave me. This was deep rooted and stems from what i have seen and how I was treated as a child by certain family members, etc. As a result, I eventually ended up in a therapists office during early adulthood.. 🤦🏾‍♀️
**It's taken some years of therapy/counseling to work through some of this trauma and heal, (and continue to keep healing) also working with a life coach, and then actually becoming a life coach! I thank god for therapy! It's possible that I could have passed these ways and behaviors down to my children, but I didn't, and i won't because it ends with me! These are some of the very cycles and generational curses that need to be broken within a family so they are not repeated. Because of what I went through and experienced as a child, I'm now actively helping women, children, and families recover and heal from their childhood trauma, etc. So they don't continue to continue these same cycles. We are not our parents, grandparents, aunties, or uncles. We definitely can not change the past, but that doesn't mean we have to repeat it! We have a chance to do better and be better. Now that we know better, it's time to do better.
