How Hugging Relieves Stress: New Insights A study provides evidence that hugging regulates stress hormone levels.
Why is this 45-year-old wearing a mood ring?? This is actually a Valentine’s Day gift I got for myself as a reminder that how I feel matters! Emotions aren’t just things that happen to us. They are useful information about our own inner-workings, and they are worth paying attention to! Learning about and doing cuddle therapy is what got me to finally start paying attention to me.

Thanks Cuddle Professionals International for this basic info about the awesome power of hugs!
Hugs offer a delightful blend of physical and emotional benefits. Here are some heart-warming reasons why hugs are so wonderful:
Stress Reduction: When you embrace someone, your body releases oxytocin, often called the “cuddle hormone.” This hormone helps reduce stress and anxiety, promoting a sense of calm and well-being.
Boosts Mood: Hugs trigger the release of endorphins, which are natural mood lifters. They create feelings of happiness and contentment, even during challenging times.
Strengthens Bonds: Hugging fosters connection and intimacy. Whether it’s with a friend, family member, or partner, regular hugs strengthen relationships and build trust.
Physical Health: Hugs can have positive effects on physical health. They may lower blood pressure, improve immune function, and enhance overall cardiovascular health.
Pain Relief: The comforting pressure of a hug can soothe aches and pains. It’s like a gentle massage for the soul!
Enhances Empathy: Hugging encourages empathy and compassion. It reminds us of our shared humanity and the importance of kindness.
Reduces Loneliness: A warm hug can make you feel less alone. It reminds you that you’re not isolated and that someone cares.
Remember, hugs are free, abundant, and universally understood. So go ahead, share a heartfelt embrace—it’s good for your heart and soul!

This week's cuddle position is Koala 🐨🐨
For this cuddle position, there are 2 points, the Koala and the Tree. The Tree lays back, and invites the Koala to come lay on their side next to the tree, with their head on your shoulder, and their arm around your waist. The Koala can also put their leg over the trees leg.
Koala is great position for cuddle partners that are looking for closeness and intimacy.
PRO TIP: to achieve higher levels of relaxation, take deep breaths together.

Your’e in mid-life, between partners, kids are growing up, parents need help, and you wish someone would just hold you for a while! Sound familiar? Welcome!
This is my most consistent cuddle partner, my husband, David. He, like so many of the people I cuddle with professionally, did not grow up with a lot of nurturing touch. But as an adult he has learned how healing platonic touch can be, and that’s why he is the biggest fan and supporter of my work as a professional cuddle therapist. He empowers me daily to do what I do!
