Tony with this awesome photo! Had some fun moments (for me, hopefully for them too) working through out of class traffic this weekend in the Mustang. Tons of very courteous driving this weekend especially from my Open Throttle Racing family.
Had some technical difficulties getting our live stream link going, but we have a ChampCar Endurance Series camera in the #606!
We will be featured on the livestream from time to time, you can follow along here! https://www.youtube.com/live/59I94MJTZGg?si=R5p8bLhipXUrZ3Di
I started the race and kept everything nice and clean to hand the car off to Russell, while running the second fastest lap in D class and making up some good positions. Car has good pace, if we can manage fuel burn. We are currently making up our points related penalty laps and pushing forward! A bit over 12 hours to go as we settle in to our groove.

Between the 24 hours of Dubai and the Rolex 24, there’s something like 34 hours of straight racing to stay on top of this weekend. I’ve got my work cut out for me but I think I can do it!
If you are one of those working every day to maximize your potential in life, you are built different. But you are still going to encounter challenges and fear along the way. Sometimes, when this fear starts to show its head we can begin to doubt ourselves, potentially doubting that we are on the correct path or moving in the right direction. Remember that fear often stems from the unknown. From the uncharted territory, and our inability to predict what is ahead. This is the confirmation that you are on the right path. This is also the intersection where most people hop off of the bus. When fear is present you can be certain that it is time to double down. Renovate your mindset such that fear is your “green flag” and watch your obstacles crumble.
Hopping in the Open Throttle E46 “Zhippy” with Champcar at Sebring! Awesome way to end the year. We’ve had some struggles in the mustang world, but that’s racing!
I've seriously met the best people in motorsports and it never stops being special. My guy Chandler Lunny is out here making a name for himself in grownup motorsports, while an essential part of THE winning team in NASCAR. We sent a little seasonal card and got this back just a few short days later.
I'm grateful to have had the pleasure of working with Chandler and to get to know him as a friend. This guy believes in me 100%, gives good advise, occasionally stays onboard when I don't follow it, and loves my fam! It's probably not a coincidence that my best driving always comes out when this guy is in my ear. Thanks buddy, can't wait to do it again 🏁🏁🏁
Stumbled across this V8 goodness from 2022 racing with Open Throttle Racing at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta competing in the World Racing League! This was a blast!

I remember like 6 years ago telling another individual in the industry about the types of jobs I intended to tackle and grow to. I was cutting grass and some light landscape work at the time. Was met with (don’t remember exact words) “hope that works out, but you know I’ve been doing this a long time and those kinds of things are really tough, you should refer those to somebody qualified. How would you even go about it?”
It’s taken me a long time to learn these lessons, but I’ve taken away a few things:
- Keep your ambitions close to your chest if you care what other people think. They will sew seeds of doubt and limit your growth. Grow in silence and save your ambitions/victories for those that value you and your capabilities.
- Only you know your capabilities. Often not to the fullest extent even. I guarantee you the naysayer is even further off with their opinion.
- Jealousy is real, folks.
- The person hating on your future likely does not perceive your success as realistic because they can’t envision themselves succeeding in your shoes. That’s a “them” problem.
- How would I even go about it? Idk, and didn’t need to. The only prerequisites are having the fortitude to stick with the challenges ahead, nurture a teachable attitude, admit when you’re wrong, and surround yourself with those that are doing what you want to do.
- Thankfully I didn’t take those comments to heart and had forgotten that conversation. It came back to me as I was reflecting on my early days in the industry and where I am now. I don’t pretend to be some wealthy successful individual and I’ve failed in thousands of ways. But I realized that if my motivation had been “proving the haters wrong” this whole time I would have missed all the beautiful little moments that come along with victories and failures. They become part of who you are, when you’re doing it for you and yours.
The Greenlawn Georgia Hardscaping and Landscaping Spec Iron mustang is entering its second phase of life as an endurance car! Section 8 racing has procured the car and converted it for enduro, and we will be putting in its first laps today at the SCCA event at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta! Can’t wait to be back in this car, has been exactly 11 months today!
What an end to a weekend at Road America with ChampCar Endurance Series!
I got back in the car for the final 2 hour stint sitting P18 overall and P4 in class, with P3 2 laps ahead. It took some time but I was able to reel them in eventually, securing us P3 in A class. Additionally, moved up to P13 overall.
The car had endured some hardships and bumps and bruises already today and was tired in a number of ways, but with a bit of thrashing it still gave me every bit of performance needed to get back to the podium. Checker flag lap was my fastest of the weekend, the car was a ton of fun to drive. Had a few really fun runs with several B, C, and D class cars as well, finding the way around with cars that are successful in different areas of the track.
Coming back from a mechanical repair which adjusted the strategy of the race, cost us 8 minutes, and then charging back to the podium and top 15 overall is a big testament to the grit of this team and the amazing racecar they’ve developed. 45th Parallel Motorsports, can’t thank you enough for asking me up here and trusting me with your 4-cyl Mazda rocket ship 🚀 on a green-light chase.
Race update: I took over for Jeff who drove us up to P7 overall. I ran roughly 1 hour moving us to P6 overall but battled a hidden remaining challenge from yesterday’s mechanical situation. We brought the car in to address the issue, picking back up in 34th place overall. Neal is in the car until around 1:30 central time, currently brining us back up to P20 overall, and 6th in class. I will jump in to close and see what we can salvage!

33 degree race conditions to start the day today. Very grateful for my friend Jeff with 45th Parallel Motorsports giving me a last minute opportunity to jump on at Road America. I first saw this track in my first World Racing League start May 2022 with my friends at AOA racing, and I’ve been itching to come back since. What better way than a fall showdown with ChampCar Endurance Series!
We had a freak component failure yesterday and Paul, Susie, and a few others stayed up making sure we had a shot at the front today. This is the glue that holds race teams together, and can’t thank them enough!

Ohhh take me back to Mid-O!
Reliving my first time at Mid Ohio earlier this year driving the Open Throttle Racing #64 GP1 car with co-drivers Gino Manley and Mark Brummond.
First portion is making my way through the GP field, followed by trying to escape a hungry GTO car on my tail for 8-10 laps with a best lap of 1:37.3
Here is my fastest lap in the OFIC Racing E36, plus a couple bonus laps. Rodney hopped in and shaved .1 off this pace later in the day.
Obviously, there is a ton more pace left in this car, but I felt like this was the proper level of push, aggression, and car abuse (curb slamming) considering 21 hours of racing remaining and my first time in the car. Super easy car to drive and I hope to get to drive it again!
I’ll update with more pictures and video as it becomes available, but Section8 Racing pulled it off! In an effort to reel in P1 in D class we tried to stretch brake pads to the end with Rowan Gill running some seriously quick laps, closing the gap from 6 laps to 1 lap. Unfortunately with about 20 minutes to go he was left with no pedal pressure or front left pads remaining. The team worked at the absolute maximum to get some new pads on, but things were not salvageable on that corner. They clamped off the brake line and got Dylan Beckwith out just in time to scoot around and see the checkers. We took P2, after a very hard fought battle.
But…rules are rules, and P1 was DQ’d, and we were able to collect P1 in D class after all! The Lifeline 24hr Classic at VIR is an incredibly special event, and getting a car across the finish line is a huge challenge alone. There’s nothing like screaming through the uphill esses of Virginia International Raceway at 2AM in the darkness at 115-120mph with a big V8 roaring in your ears. Super pleased with the result and really looking forward to spending more time with these folks in the future.
I’m very grateful to have gotten to jump in these cars this weekend and fill in where needed, meet new friends and spend time with old ones. My friends at OFIC Racing put up a valiant fight, but just wasn’t our year. Huge thank you to Rodney and the team for including me this weekend, your car is a beast.
Separate post for my Open Throttle folks!
Big shoutout to Politipixels for this awesome shot as things got dark last night!

2 hours remaining, driving for 45th Parallel Racing in the ChampCar Endurance Series 14 hours of Autobahn. 30 seconds before roll-out, Suzi noticed he had twisted one of the shoulder straps and all agreed safety was much more important than starting order. Fully strapped in, Stephen started in P34 and charged up to P3 during his stint.
Jeff drove us up to P2, at which point we took fuel, 4 tires, and a driver change in 5 minutes.
Adrian is currently holding us in P4, with Jeff about to jump in and see if we can do better than yesterday!
Starting first stint again this morning for the 45° Parallel after the team finished first in class and 3rd overall in yesterday's 7 hour portion of the 14 hour Champ Series enduro at the beautiful Autobahn Country Club.
Jeff moved us into P3 overall after a long battle, 40 minutes to the checkers! Let’s go!
Grateful to get to come fill a seat for 45° Parallel Motorsport! Jeff reached out with a last minute seat to fill in a race where we have a good shot at the podium, and it’s an absolute pleasure to come drive this machine. Years of R&D have gone into this masterpiece and it shows. I took the green flag this morning for my first laps in the car and my first time seeing Autobahn Country Club and had a blast. I felt the car and track out gently for my first stint and moved us from P21 to P5 overall. Jeff is in the car and we are sitting in P4!
Cheering my Open Throttle Racing gang on remotely from Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta today as they take on 14 hours of Daytona! Kick some butt guys!
