Every year we have been supported 100% by the Chief Mason Griffith Foundation, and this year we were honored for the generous donation from the organization!
Chief Mason Griffith was shot and was later to succumb to his injuries in march of 2023, while on duty for the Herman Police department. Mason was dedicated to the job and loved to spread his passion for the field.
Even though being a brother in Blue, we are honored to live Chiefs legacy!
And just like that, class 17 is over! These recruits put in the work and pushed through the heat. Recruits got to learn classroom portions of the fire service including: fire behavior, SCBA, Ropes and knots, ladders, extrication and then put the new knowledge to practical use by performing the skills themselves! Students also got to visit Arch 6 medical helicopter and learn about what they do, then received a surprise visit from the State Fire Marshal, the assistant Fire Marshal, and the new state Mutual Aid Coordinator. Then to Top it off, a suprise guest speech from one of the best in the business, Assistant Fire Chief Andy Seers!
Great work everyone! See you next year!
