For The Win. Client had an intermittent EPC light illuminating on the dash of her MY2015 Audi A3 Premium 2.0L T. After a proper client interview I scanned the vehicle with ROSS-TECH VCDS and found a code for boost pressure regulation / control range not reached (pics in comments). Code 14914/P0299. I test drove the vehicle after gaining permission from the client and could hear a boost leak on acceleration at 4psi and above. Used my evap system and smoke tester to leak check the intake system and found a cracked plastic intercooler tank.
After re-engaging the client and continuing the interview, it was revealed that the intermittent EPC light started after she had backed out of a friend’s driveway and missed the curb in the snow and ice and either drug the front end on the curb or on the ice damaging the front end of the vehicle substantially.
