Time is running out to signup for the pole vault camp. Unfortunately, I've had many people say they're interested but not many have signed up. We need at least five more athletes to make it doable for those that have already signed up. Please pass this on to as many people as you know.

It was an exciting practice day. Little did I know I would be getting this when I agreed to let them wear costumes to practice tonight! I had a great time and do did all the kids! Now it's time to get serious.... championship season starts this weekend. We have 35 Freedom Flyers competing at the AAU district XC championship. Go Flyers and Happy Halloween!
Amazing running from our kids today. I wish I had more pictures but here's a few of what I captured. Feel free to upload any moments you may have captured. Thanks to all the parents for the support you give your kids. It shows in their attitudes and effort. Awesome job Flyers!
Best Freedom Flyers practice of the year tonight! Rambo Run...run for 40 minutes in groups of equal ability changing leaders every 3 minutes. Only rule...no going in the disgusting lake at Century and vigorous movement must be maintained the whole time. The high School girls started the run by rolling down the hill, the high school boys started by doing "the worm" in a large puddle, my youth girls were the first to hug coach after covering themselves in mud, and the youth boys had quite a mudball fight. They had a blast, and worked hard doing it!
The smiles on these awesome kids faces are the best reward a coach could ever need!
Now, it's back to work at tomorrow's practice.
It was another amazing XC race day at Utica Park in Frederick! So many PRs, despite the difficult practices this past week. Congratulations to all 32 of our kids that competed today! If anyone has more pictures or videos, please post them for everyone to see. Thank you!
I'm happy to announce the Freedom Flyer uniforms have been finalized in the graphics department at Champion and are on their way to production. I only have the mock up of the Ladies Compression, but the other gender and styles look very similar (just with out the racerback). Also, the shorts will have a blue ribbon on the side, not white. No one has seen the uniforms until now...enjoy!
The results from the meet this weekend have been finalized in Athletic.net and are located here:

We had 30 kids compete and most of them had new personal records! Way to go Flyers!

Nathan Frattali's 12U Baseball team is going to Cooperstown this year and they are trying to raise money to help defer some of the cost of this trip. Nathan is one of our 6th graders and it would be great if we could support him. They are hosting a virtual 5k as a fundraiser. The registration is located here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sykesville-cyclones-5k-run-to-cooperstown-tickets-116993682253?aff=efbevent
Please remember, you can use a long run at practice as your 5k or even a meet. Most of you run between 6k and 10k each practice, so you're already running this amount at least 3 times a week.
Sykesville Cyclones 5K Run to Cooperstown! Welcome to the Sykesville Cyclones 5K Run to Cooperstown! Our goal is to raise funds for our boys to attend the 2021 Cooperstown tournament.
Unfortunately, coaching the kids hasn't left me with a lot of time for photos, but I did have a good one from the first meet of the season of the high school girls.
