Had this vision for a while. Finally found the right chunk of wood. Although it's pine, I anticipate it will be amazing when I get this monstrous bowl done. Almost carved 7 inches deep so far.

When you find a cottonwood burl (or any burl) you have to bring it home.

Spalted hackberry clocks. These would look great on your fireplace mantle or shelf.

Another 17 inch spalted Hackberry bowl almost finished today. These bowls are endgrain which make the colors and spalt patterns crazy but also take a lot longer to carve. Hard.
Big bread bowls up for grabs. 19 long x 7 wide. I put rubber feet on the bottom. You can use as a centerpiece and put pinecones and other decor in or place rolls in. Multiple uses. 4 total available. All similar in size shape and colors. These primitive and rustic hand carved bowls will make a great conversation starter for your guests. $60 each.

Tonight's bowl. Hackberry may be my new favorite.
1 of several bowls carved. Out today. My friend Sam gave me this chunk and some other cool stuff to play with soon. I am not certain but I think it may be a type of birch.
