Not only is a chronic illness. It is also a progressive disease.

Fun fact: the stage of endometriosis has no correlation with the level of pain one may experience. Meaning a patient with stage one endometriosis can have severe pain, while a patient with stage four can be asymptomatic.

Endometriosis research still has a long way to go. The cause of this disease is still unknown. There is also no cure. What researchers do know about the disease is minimum.
