My biggest fear in life- is someone asking my clients if they have extensions!!!🙈 I would be so embarrassed!

My goal is to create a natural, undetectable look. I think it’s timeless and classy. Unnatural looking extensions that are super heavy and unnaturally full, look dated to me.

Five years ago, I wanted allllllll the hair on my head!!! I didn’t care how unnatural it looked. However, my taste has changed and so has the look I like to create!

I prefer individually bonded keratin hair extensions over other methods because of how customizable, discrete and low maintenance they are.

They can be used to add volume, length, a pop of color, chemical free blonding or, all of the above.

The bond size can be customized to match your density and the color options are endless! Most of my clients wear their extensions for 3 months at a time with absolutely NO in salon maintenance between visits.

Can you spot the difference⁉️

Not all Keratin extension applications are created equal! The details are what’s going to help ensure a healthy and safe grow out.

I’m sure you’ve heard someone say that extensions can cause hair loss. It’s scary but, true. That can be a result of improper home care, application or both!

That’s why I love education. It’s so different than any other extension education I’ve ever attended. They set you up for success not only in having a proper and safe application but also, specific home care instructions for your client to help ensure the healthiest grow out possible.

It’s important to determine proper section size, density match, body positioning and proper elevation when applying extensions.

This visual shows that in the left picture, the section size and density match were spot on. The body positioning, bond positioning and/ or elevation were not.

This means, those bonds are attached with an uneven amount of tension and the bottom hairs are under more tension than the top. This may result in a little loop as it grows out and it could also result in breakage depending on how gentle the client is with their hair.

This is why proper education and practice is so important! It’s always my goal for the hair to be just as healthy after we remove their extensions than it was when we installed them.

Let’s talk about COLOR CORRECTIONS‼️

Color corrections are a challenge and very different for everyone. Managing expectations is the hardest part for me.

The hair is in charge, and ultimately my number one goal is maintaining and improving the integrity of the hair while creating a softer, more natural look.

I know the tonal change is important but, having healthy hair is more important, to me.

It’s my non negotiable. After once losing the integrity of my own hair chasing a “tone”. I will never sacrifice integrity for a tone. Sometimes you can have both and sometimes you can’t. It all depends on the strength of the hair.

Ultimately, I may
not have completely achieved my guests goals with this correction but, we took the necessary steps towards getting her back to a place where she loved her hair! I pride myself in knowing that I was able to improve the condition of her hair, the tone of her hair and the blend of her hair for a more natural, less brassy end result.

I don’t do color corrections often BUT when I do- I use Platinum programming and the complete Bioprogramming system from to improve the condition of the hair as I work.

When someone sits in my chair after getting a fresh new set of extensions and says, in sheer PANIC, “please don’t cut it!” 😳

The truth is, extensions HAVE to be cut in order to blend softly.

Trust me, I know you “want to keep the length,” BUT I will not keep all of the length if it compromises the overall blend of your extensions.

I always try to be super honest and upfront with client expectations during their consultation. Meaning, if someone has 6” hair and wants 22” hair, I may recommend 14” hair for a more seamless, natural blend.

Which color is BRIGHTER?

💛💜

Purple shampoo is designed to neutralize 💛yellow, brassy tones. However, the overuse of purple shampoo💜will result in darker, dull looking hair. 🖤

SWIPE for a visual➡️➡️➡️

With each shampoo, a little bit of pigment is left behind, creating a veil over the hair. The next time you shampoo, a little more pigment is left behind, and so on and so fourth.

I always recommend shampooing first with a non pigmented shampoo to cleanse your hair. Then, if you’re feeling a little warmer than you’d like, follow up with a purple shampoo.

This is a PSA that you do NOT need to use a purple shampoo every. single. wash.

If your color is looking 💯, it’s okay to skip it!

In order for your hair to appear light and bright, you need a tiny bit of warmth because 💛 reflects light and 💜 absorbs it.

Over pigmentation will cause your hair to look much darker than it really is.
