My reel yesterday got almost 50,000 views! I’ve learned a lot about reels through trial and error - and here’s what I’ve learned.

A pretty video or a trending sound is not enough to go viral. You need to offer some sort of VALUE to your audience. Give them a reason to care about your video in the midst of thousands of others. Intrigue, shock, resolve, allure. Keep this in mind next time you’re creating a Reel! 💐🤍

YES, it’s important to have boundaries, and you never want to constantly be bending over backwards for a client when you aren’t being fairly compensated.

However, showing up and going the extra mile to deliver great results for your clients will almost ALWAYS pay off in the long run.

In short - don’t be afraid to under promise, and over deliver 🤍💐

I initially met Riley because he reached out to me with a genuine interest and desire to expand his knowledge about social media management. I thought that this was common knowledge, BUT I recently got a client who got talked into using this method for “growth.” 😵‍💫

I could talk about this for an hour… but you should NEVER buy any sort of engagement for your profile. Why?

The algorithm is smart. It will immediately recognize inauthentic engagement, flag your profile and hide your posts from REAL people. These bot accounts that are interacting with your profile are not going to grow your business 🥴

I get it - we want to see numbers go up. But having 100 REAL followers who care about what you post will drive MORE business than 1,000 inauthentic followers.

In addition, IG will recognize the demographic of those who enjoy your content, and push it to other like-minded individuals on the app. Assuming you’re not trying to reach more bot accounts, this is only going to hurt your account’s conversion rate🥲

& the worst part, even after you stop buying these engagements, the damage done to your reach is very difficult to undo. Bottom line - NEVER pay for followers or engagement. Like ever. Please 🫡🫶🏽

While it’s fun to create relatable content for others in your niche, don’t forget who your prospects are! Make sure your social media also speaks to your ideal clients and customers 🤍💐

IG has been testing a ton of different features in order to keep up with competitors, especially TikTok.

I’m actually excited for full-screen feeds!! But it’s going to give posts that don’t fit the 16:9 ratio a blurred boarder, which will make old posts look a little… 🥴🥴 I’ve been preparing for this update by taking more photos with the camera setting already in 16:9!

Losing followers is a GOOD THING 💐 Why? Because you only want followers who WANT to be following you.

- It is normal and expected for users to unfollow your account
- As low as a 2:1 follow/unfollow ratio is still indicative of a healthy Instagram account 💐
- Some days your engagement & growth will be higher than others, that’s okay!
- Staying consistent over time is more effective for growth than posting one viral Reel and ghosting your account for a week.
