Exciting project highlight! 🚨 MES Group is delivering top-notch Fire Protection Engineering services for the North Carolina National Guard's new 60,000 SF maintenance hangar. Our team is designing an advanced sprinkler system for the hangar while planning for future expansions. Safety first! 🔥🚁

🌷 Happy Mother's Day from all of us at MES Group! Today, we honor the incredible mothers who inspire us with their strength, love, and dedication.

MES Group is tremendously proud to have supported our brave servicemen at Naval Air Station Key West for several projects. These projects were prompted by the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, which inflicted extensive damage on numerous structures throughout the base. Our MEP-FP design efforts have included office renovations, the replacement of a standby diesel generator and Automatic Transfer System, and the upgrading of a main distribution panelboard. Our design efforts corrected current ongoing issues and substantially improved their infrastructure's resiliency and mission capability. Additionally, lighting for recreation areas including soccer, softball, baseball, basketball, and tennis was updated.

📣 Congratulations to Jacob Tyler Donchenko for his achievement of passing the Fire Protection Engineering (FPE) exam! We're thrilled about his success and grateful for his continued growth.

MES Group has teamed up with Elliott Wheeler Architecture to craft the stunning interior renovations for Tampa's latest hotspot, The Spiral Staircase. Our collaboration covers everything from redesigning the five-story building’s first and second floors to enhancing its functionality with a new wine bar and catering space. From assessing ADA compliance to optimizing energy efficiency, we're proud to help bring this vision to life. Construction is expected to commence this summer. Stay tuned for the reveal! 🏢🔨

📣 Thrilled to share our latest project update! Serving as the Prime A/E, our team continues to spearhead the design and engineering services for the optimization of 1,300 SF space at the Miami VA Medical Center to replace a Linear Accelerator (LINAC) with a new Varian EDGE LINAC.

Our scope included not simply swapping machines, but orchestrating a complete transformation. We revamped the existing LINAC vault, relocating the ISO center and prepping the slab for the new baseplate. To ensure optimal conditions, we designed a dedicated rooftop air handler, equipped with outside air, chiller, and heat exchanger for the vault's HVAC needs.

The electrical system underwent a revamp to seamlessly integrate the new LINAC and mechanical equipment. The lighting got a transformation too, with the old system making way for a new modular star panel setup, delivering an immersive night sky effect.

MES Group was thrilled to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the HVAC systems at the historic Barrymore Hotel, constructed in 1969! Our team meticulously studied all of the existing mechanical systems including air handling units (AHUs), exhaust fans, chillers, hydronic piping, ductwork, air devices, and accessories in order to identify areas of concern and potential problems as the hotel begins a program of renovation and expansion. To ensure optimal comfort throughout the facility for guests and staff we performed a complete HVAC load analysis and system assessment including an evaluation of outside air and ventilation demands. A report was produced comparing calculated loads to existing system capacities and providing recommended alterations and modifications.

Exciting news! Our Director of Business Development, Victoria Haney, has successfully passed the LEED Green Associate exam! 📚🌱 Victoria's dedication to professional development and sustainability is truly commendable. Join us in celebrating this achievement!

Our team continues to collect data and make recommendations in a site-by-site campus-wide steam distribution study at multiple VAMC locations across VISN 8. The studies include a detailed survey of the full facility pinpointing all cast iron, ductile, or malleable fittings, valve housings, piping, and components in high and medium pressure steam supply and return systems and production of a comprehensive report that will be utilized by the VA to generate solicitations for steam system remediation to eliminate cast iron components.

📣Congratulations to Nick Stephenson, MES Group Principal, for passing the Building Commissioning Professional (BCxP) exam! Yet another certification for him after recently passing the FPE exam.

MES Group, as Prime A/E, was honored to lead an over 18,000 sf renovation for the new Mental Health wing at Miami VA Medical Center. Our design featured a centralized nurse station, upgraded patient accommodations, expanded dining areas, and enhanced offices.

Let us use this day as a reminder of the power of unity, compassion, and empathy to create positive change in our communities.

Our team is currently providing A/E services for a project to conduct a comprehensive building assessment at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center. The purpose of this assessment is to verify and update the record drawings and to determine the extent and locations of any damaged HVAC ductwork in the interstitial spaces of all floors in Building 1 of the facility. This is an important initiative that aims to identify any potential issues with the HVAC distribution system in the building so that necessary repairs or replacements can be made to ensure the efficient functioning of the systems and to maintain the required pressure relationships throughout critical areas.
