A message to our loyal fans…
When I couldn't find a job, I created one. I honed in on my modern art, business, retail, and vintage background AND doing what I love….helping people dress retro and vintage in the way that makes them feel good and confident to express who they are. Whether it was someone dressing retro for work, a new dress for a birthday party, a young person wanting a prom dress that doesn't look like everyone else's, or helping a friend transition into wearing women's clothes. Cats Like Us was there and happy to be part of your journeys!
We promoted local people with in-store events every month for 15 years. We truly loved hosting each one of you. Not only that, but we've always said,"if we close the door to Cats Like Us tomorrow, the best thing we gained from it was friends." Thank you all for the support and experiences.
This may come as a surprise to you, but because of many factors we have made the difficult decision to close our boutique storefront. After almost 15 years (Oct 1) we've decided that it's time.
15 years ago, I had energy to take on the world! I didn't have a back injury or an autoimmune disease then. I had big plans for Cats Like Us, unfortunately one failed attempt after another kept happening.... and happening. Now I'm a tired old lady without the energy to make a tik tok or snapchat of how "exciting" my shop life is. I know other small businesses can relate. I just want to sell things that make people happy.
Sadly, doing what you love doesn't mean you can make money. Cats Like Us will be closing its boutique location. We will still have the online shop. This wasn't a rash decision by any means, but a very emotional one. Please understand, we loved serving you. Thanks to everyone who shopped with us and supported us one way or another over the years.
