Portrait of a friend's dogs. I'm posting some older work while I work on a commission of a set of shoji lamps and fire a load of bisqueware. Thank you to all my friends and family who support my work as an artist!
The studio is finished! I'm going to paint a rug or ? on the floor, but it's all set up to have a ceramics day with some friends and start painting
Studio is almost done!
Flashback: When I was living in Salt Lake City I often went to the zoo to sketch. The monkeys here are from those trips. The eagle is from a photo (not mine) and the moth was just a fun composition. These days I don't see things like I used to, and I'm kind of amazed at how patient I was to sit for hours and draw. I think I need to turn off my phone and learn to see again.
The studio is getting paint today! Primer is Done and the ceiling is getting finished today!
It’s almost spring! Time to get the sketchbook and watercolors out and plan some adventures, though I’m so spoiled I usually just sit on the deck and paint from here.
Working on a few watercolors that I started in NY while we were there for our niece Faith's wedding. If you're staying in the Catskills this is the place to stay:

If you haven't taken one of Diane's silk dying workshops you are missing out. Her work is one of my favorite gifts for family.

One Day Workshops — Workshop SLC If you are looking for the perfect bonding activity to do with a loved one, our date nights are the place to be. These classes are built for any skill level to enjoy. We want to teach adults to take pleasure in the process of trying something new and feeling proud about the work that they create.
Working on acrylic landscapes and the online watercolor class at the same time. Looking forward to spring so I can paint outdoors again
Taking a class on Domestika - painting animals in watercolor. These are 2 of the lessons. Sarah Stokes is such a good teacher, despite my mediocre outcomes. I am learning a Lot, though - https://www.domestika.org/en/courses/2510-expressive-animal-portraits-in-watercolor
Its been a busy time, but im finally painting again. These are views from the house.
acrylics except for the last one. It’s pastels. Theyre all about 10” square.
Sketching daily, working on a few house sketches for people who are moving a want a memory of their home, and testing some handmade paints from Bountiful Arts Center.
A good friend who is an artist visited last weekend, and I realized I haven't been having much fun painting lately. It's rewarding to work, but not as fun as when I was a kid. This style is so fun I bought a new sketchbook. Oh, and we have a quail nesting in the garden! Soon there will be little fluffballs to sketch!
Finally painting and working again! Landscaping and construction is under control (for now) and I've pulled out my sketchbook. Let's see if I can reboot any skills I had before the move!!
