Half of this hood was polish 4 years ago, then had a small piece of paint protection film applied to see the real UV protection of the film.
You can see that even though it's a bit dirty, the film still has all its gloss, but more importantly, the paint under the film still has the rich color it had when it was first applied. This is 2 years of sitting outside, then 2 years in a mechanics shop with ZERO maintenance done for the film.
If this doesn't show you that PPF really does protect your paint, I don't know what will.

Quality takes time! Using the right tool for the area you're working on is a must to get the most out of a paint correction. With modern vehicle design, that tends to mean spending a lot of time with the 1" and 3" polishers to get all those detail areas. When you love what you do and take pride in your work, it's worth it.

Paint corrections have many benefits including improved appearance, increased value, more cost effective than a repaint, and they are customizable to your needs. So what options do you have at Devil’s Details and what are the starting prices?

All-in-one Enhancement: $400
This is a light, quick enhancement, designed to bring back some lost gloss and depth to the color. This is great to clean up the look of your car as well as an economical way to increase value before selling.

Single-Stage Correction: $800
Each panel gets a single pass with a medium polish and foam pad aimed at removing 75%-80% of defects from the paint, providing enhanced clarity and gloss and only leaving the deeper scratches behind. This is a great option for a daily driver that you want to look great, while leaving plenty of paint for future polishing, if necessary.

Two-Stage Correction: $1,200
Each panel gets an initial cutting stage, that removes up to 95% of defects, but leaves a haze behind. This is followed by a refining/jeweling stage, that removes the haze and brings out the gloss and clarity we want. For most people, the paint will look perfect after this, as any remaining defects will be minimized and difficult to see.

Wet Sanding: $100hr
Wet sanding is commonly used for removing deep scratches that are too deep to be removed by normal polishing. Another use for this is removing the orange peel present in automotive paint to give a true “flat as glass” reflection. While removing orange peel can be done for almost any vehicle, it’s most commonly done on show cars, since they need the paint to look as perfect as possible.

This Ford Expedition was left in a field with the windows stuck down for months. There was a lot going on here, with the most noticeable being the huge amount of dirt covering everything. Mix that with the moisture that got in, along with the spiders and carpet Beatles, and we had quite a time getting back to a usable state. It took a full 2 days, but we got it there.

Why choose Devil’s Details

Why spend so much when my car will just get dirty again?

There are a few reasons why it’s worth it.

1. The environmental elements (road salts, bugs, bird droppings, the fallout from our smog, etc.) degrade the exterior components causing rust and a breakdown in the rubber seals that could lead to other vital areas. We also bring many of the elements inside the car with us. Once in the vehicle, they act as a type of sandpaper, wearing out and staining the carpets, upholstery, and interior seals.

2. We also leave our own mark on the inside. Our body oils, make-up, bacteria and viruses are all left behind. This leaves a visible layer of grim inside our cars and in some instances, it can create foul odors and even make us sick.

3. When the proper techniques and products are used we are able to eliminate all the contaminants from inside and out. This not only leaves the vehicle looking much better, but it also smells better, feels better, and is a healthier place to be. With as much time as we spend in our cars, I know you can see how important that is.

4. It’s much easier to maintain. This is a major reason I use the techniques and products I do. While the initial detail may take upwards of 12-15 hours to complete, regular maintenance details are much faster, around 2-4 hours. This equals substantial savings in not just the cost of the details, but also in the cost of repairs that would eventually be needed if you hadn’t maintained the cleanliness of your car.

So why don’t I just take my car to the cheap place down the street?

1. The first and most important reason: I care about my clients! You’re never just another car or a dollar sign I’m trying to exploit. I take the time to learn about you, your family, how you use your vehicle, and what the vehicle means to you. Is it your daily driver that needs to be clean and safe for you and your kids to be in for hours every day? Is it a car that you've dreamt of having and you want it to look and feel it's best? Or is it a show car that needs to be as close to perfect as possible? Each of these requires a different approach and different techniques to bring you the results you're looking for.

2. While the places down the street are fast and cheap, many times their techniques lead to minor scratches to the paint, sometimes called “love marks” (these are the spiderweb looking marks on your paint) and they don’t have the time or care to do a thorough job. This can leave those environmental elements in the harder to reach areas causing the same issue mentioned above, as well as an interior that is only visibly clean in the obvious places while not being cleaned in the less obvious areas and not at all sanitized.

3. At Devil’s Details, I ensure every aspect of the vehicle is thoroughly cleaned with the safest techniques possible. This greatly reduces the risk of love marks or any other incidental damage. I also ensure every surface in the interior, from the headliner to under the seats, is cleaned and sanitized.
