I've been gone for a long time, bit it's time I came on here with an update.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer on May 16 after a biopsy on the left breast. It was followed by an MRI scan, a second breast biopsy, a PET/CT scan, a bone biopsy, and finally a left mastectomy surgery on July 7th. The pathology revealed I won't need chemotherapy and yesterday I had the surgery drain removed.

It's been three weeks after surgery and I'm still slow and taking it easy, with plans to return to school at the end of August.

As for writing, I'm hoping to return to that soon too. 🤞

Matt Garrison is home for the summer after failing to secure funding for the museum he owns. Forced to close for the foreseeable future, he only wants to be left alone to research plans for reopening. But sharing his house with a Portuguese woman and a puppy is the farthest from peace and quiet he can get—between her early morning obsession with Elvis Presley music, the puppy’s chewing of his belongings, and the meddling of old ladies, Matt finds himself smothered in company.

As Matt reluctantly joins Juliana in carrying out the items on her list, he realizes his first impression of her is all wrong. The more time Juliana spends with Matt, the less interested she is to return home. Is the attraction they feel only temporary or are they willing to work for a happy-ever-after?

A pet sitting fiasco turns into a romantic adventure fulfilling a bucket list that won't be soon forgotten. I love the Romano family and it was great meeting their cousin with the no-nonsense and forgiving personality. Matt was understandably grumpy about Juliana's intrusion at first, but they settled into something fun, full of banter, new experiences, and a bonus of attraction.

This small town romance hit the spot on a summer afternoon, but it was the puppy who stole the show. All-in-all, a fun, sweet story.
