If spring cleaning is overwhelming you, just do one drawer or cabinet or closet at a time! Just dust, next day vac., next day mop, then baseboards, bathroom sinks, then tubs, next toilets. Just pick one thing and finish it. It will motivate you to keep going. Oh, and I celebrate with cookies!😋

Let little kids learn to cook with this little baby! Omelets, pancakes (with just add water mix) in a Pyrex measuring pour cup with a fork. They can add blueberries to pancakes, veg and cheese to omelets (if you wash and pre-chop) and safely create delicious food! Messes are allowed, it’s part of learning.

I love design more than any other hobby. Design shows, magazines and really anywhere I go I notice design or I’m re-designing in my head. I was in a meeting a couple of weeks ago and a friend was looking across the table at me and said “you are re-painting this room in your mind aren’t you?” I WAS! Can’t help it.

Re-post sans cake! I have posted this tip before but it bears repeating. Clean in phases, a little each day so it doesn’t exhaust you. One day dust, one day vac. Then mop then empty trash and do a counter wipe. I do the shower with a scrubbing wand while I am finishing or starting a shower since I’m in there. Sometime I do a shortcut on mopping with a Clorox wipe under my sneaker around the bathroom and toilet. Work smarter not harder!

Some folks may just see a white room but what pulls the design together is the subtle room jewelry like brass accents. The squares in the window and square picture frames as well as wainscoting tie in. The round vase, bowl and tiered dessert plate keep the room from being too boxy. So peaceful and you can add seasonal pops of color.🥰

I used to rehab furniture and I loved making a colorful surprise inside shelves.

I love painting the inside of closets, pantry’s and laundry rooms. You can wall paper inside of hall closets and upgrade standard construction grade lighting. Even design the back of book shelves! Think inside the box.

For fall cleaning if you get inspired to wash your sofa cushions, put em back on wet!

Containment is a beautiful thing in any room

Closets are my favorite spaces to design, they are also one of the most underloved spaces of busy people. There are a few different ways to do closet org., we usually have much more than we wear. Purge first! If it doesn’t fit or isn’t fabulous, it’s gotta go sister!

My company motto is “overcoming overwhelmed” and I love helping folks do this! There are great tools, simple solutions, and take 1 space at a time. You will get through it, it’s time to do a fall clean out friends, I believe in you!

Pro tip of the week, if you want your home to smell lovely, here’s how you get scent to last longer. Take your new air intake filter for your heating and cooling system out. Spray with your favorite scent (mine is bathe and body works “gingham”) then put it in place of your old dusty one. It will spread scent through your home and last longer since it has something to cling to! Enjoy😉
