The Board of Elections has announced the results of the June 19, 2022 Democratic primary election for Baltimore County State's Attorney, and the voters have nominated me to run as their candidate in the General Election. I am grateful to everyone who participated in the election and I am indebted to the family, friends, colleagues, volunteers and supporters who helped me through this campaign.

Many different voices made themselves heard throughout the course of this primary election, and I was heartened by the instances when the issues were fairly discussed and debated. I am encouraged by the significant voter turnout, and grateful to the employees of the Baltimore County Board of Elections for their hours of work.

Serving as the State’s Attorney for the last 16 years has been my life’s greatest honor, and I look forward to the general election and the privilege of serving the public for another four years.

I vow that I will continue to seek the fair administration of justice for and the protection of anyone residing in or visiting Baltimore County.

Thank you again for your support.

In service,
Scott Shellenberger
Baltimore County State’s Attorney

"Baltimore County State's Attorney Scott Shellenberger was a big reason for the success of Grace's Law 2.0, Maryland's strongest-in-the-nation law against cyberbullying of children. Scott helped to make sure that families could protect their children from online threats including cyberbullying, sextortion, and revenge po*******hy. He deserves our vote for re-election."

Today followed a presentation by Mr. Louis Diggs. He has written 13 books about the history of African American’s in Baltimore County. Check out the Diggs-Johnson Museum on Facebook or go there when we reopen. This man knows so much history. I always learn something.

Last week I had the chance to deliver 200 reusable shopping bags to the amazing crew at the Assistance Center of Towson Churches. Big thank you to Linda Lotz and the rest of the Assistance Center team for all the work they’re doing to provide pre-packed grocery bags and Thanksgiving meals for those in need. These bags were purchased with Asset Forfeiture money (seized from drug dealers) and I’m glad to see these resources being put to good use in our community! If you’d like to make a food donation to their organization, you can find out information on how to do so here:
