Each year, we work to honor the legacy left behind by our friend Gary Reed. Gary was an adamant believer that comics were better when more people we making them. He gave his knowledge freely to those that sought it out, and never sugar coated what he said.
When we lost Gary far too early, we wanted to find a way to honor his memory by highlighting those comic creators that have been following in Gary's footsteps by creating amazing content, while working to build up the other creators around them. The results of this have been incredible with winners Seth Damoose, Dan Dougherty, Travis McIntire, Kasey Pierce, and Joshua Werner.
Nominations for the 6th annual Gary Reed Independent Creator of the Year are officially open. If you know someone that is working hard to bring up the next generation of creators while putting out their own works, then head on over to the Gary Reed page on the C4 website and fill out the form.

A couple things to take into account. The nominations for this award are reviewed by a committee of people with varied perspectives of the comics industry so quality is usually more important than quantity, So please be as specific as you can be when writing your nomination.
Nominations will close at midnight on April 1st, 2022. Finalists will be announced in early May 2022, and the award will be presented live at Cherry Capital Comic Con on Saturday, May 28, 2022.
