The Troy Now Initiative encompasses the City of Troy's American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) projects and initiatives. Utilizing ARPA funding, the City of Troy will invest $42.8M in funds to support Troy's economic recovery. The goal for this one-time funding is to provide a meaningful long-term impact in our city. Specific projects that have been earmarked and authorized for funding by the City Council
☑️ INVESTMENT INTO CANAL PARK COMPLETED ☑️
The City of Troy announced a significant milestone in its efforts to enhance the quality of life for its residents through the revitalization of Canal Park, with new playground equipment, bike path, fencing and landscaping. With an investment exceeding $600,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding, this project marks a major step forward in creating a safer, greener and more vibrant Troy.
The Canal Park revitalization is part of a broader initiative encompassing several parks throughout the city, including Kinloch Park, Beman Park, Powers Park, 112th Street Park and Prospect Park. The improvements across these parks include the installation of splash pads, upgraded playground equipment, enhanced water drainage systems, a fitness pad, community pool upgrades, new pavilions and picnic tables. These upgrades will provide safe, enjoyable spaces for all residents.
Homeownership shouldn't exclude low-income households. That's why Habitat for Humanity Capital District is working to strengthen the fabric of our neighborhoods by constructing four single-family, sustainable homes on Park Avenue.

Bargain Grocery has been awarded a portion of ARPA from the City of Troy to support the development of their nonprofit grocery store, located in Troy's North Central area on River St.
The development of this food store provides residents access to affordable groceries in their own neighborhood.
Troy residents were provided with a sturdy, lidded garbage bin, supported by a grant that the city received from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

Habitat for Humanity Capital District is rehabilitating 4 homes on Park Ave with sustainable features such as healthy materials, HVAC heat pumps with integrated energy recovery ventilation, heat pump domestic hot water heaters, and the option for solar roof tiles for inexperienced homebuyers.
Old Mt. Ida Cemetery was awarded ARPA funding for the preservation of historical monuments and the maintenance of trees to restore the appearance of this hallowed community space.
