Named β€œthe straightest driver in PGA Tour history” Peete hit 84.5% of fairways in 1983, leading the tour in accuracy. This remains the highest percentage of fairways hit on tour to date (22% better than the tour average that year!). Peete went on to hold that title for 10 consecutive years - holding #1 in driving accuracy from 1981 through 1991!
