Hello Amazing Students, Thank you for your interest in Medright, Inc. IV Skills class. A vast majority of patients seen in the ER and admitted to the hospital have an IV put in place. Intravenous Infusion, IV, can be used to replace fluids, such as electrolytes, plasma and or blood. They provide a means for administering medications and to meet nutritional needs of patients unable to provide for themselves. IV’s are performed on patients of all ages and in an endless number of circumstances. It is an invasive medical procedure that should only be performed by highly trained medical personnel. If done correctly it can be a life saving measure. If done incorrectly it can result in life altering complications. Medright, Inc.’s IV Skills Course is for healthcare professionals with some prior medical knowledge and or experience. Medright, Inc.’s highly skilled Instructor will provide a review of A & P affecting IV placement, the importance of infection control and the aseptic techniques needed for starting IV’s. The different types of fluids used for IV’s, medical conditions warranting each specific type of fluids and catheters. A majority of the evening students will be engaged in hands on time using the equipment gaining confidence with starting, monitoring and discontinuing IV’s. Class size is limited for optimal staff to student ratios. Eligible students must be over 18 years of age and have documentation proving prior medical knowledge and or work related experiences such Phlebotomists; CMA’s; RMA’s; LPN’s; RN’s; PA’s; Medical students and so on. If you have any questions on eligibility please call the office. Dress code for the course is consistent with CDC findings.
