Since we last featured Porshe about a year ago, she has continued to make great strides in her recovery.

In 2019, Porshe was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis (inflammation of the spinal cord) which led to her being unable to use her legs. She has been working hard with us since the beginning of 2020 to gain enough strength to stand and be able to walk with the assistance of her walker.

She is now able to walk one full lap around our clinic with the assistance of our Overhead Harness System which is a huge milestone in her recovery process. Porshe, you continue to make us so proud! πŸ‘

Meet our wonderful patient named Clark. In this clip, he is working on the task of stacking cones which helps with shoulder and hand coordination. After enduring a stroke, Clark has made a tremendous amount of progress in walking, balance, and increasing his arm and leg function. Clark’s hard work and loving, encouraging spirit are admirable and he is an inspiration to both patients and staff. We are very proud of the progress he has made so far and are excited to see how he continues to progress! Here we have one of our patients who came to us with a low-functioning vestibular system. This patient is Rhomberg standing on a foam balance pad, performing head movements. Rhomberg standing narrows her base of support while the foam pad creates an unsteady surface, eliminating mechanoreceptors as a way to maintain balance. She is completely relying on her vestibular system to maintain her balance. This patient is attached to our Overhead Harness System which is ideal for patients with balance/vestibular conditions as is reduces the fear of falling and allows them to better focus on the exercises they are performing. The Harness System also creates a safer environment for patients as well as therapists as there is zero risk of injury should a fall occur. #balanceawarenessweek 🦩

This clip features our lovely patient named Bess who is 99 years young and more determined than ever. Bess was kind enough to show off her skills and give us a glimpse at one of her gait training exercises. πŸ‘πŸ‘ With the assistance of our Overhead Harness System and the guidance of her therapist, she is able to perform exercises safely, with zero risk of injury from a fall.
