Red-pink hues from the aurora have been observed over south-central AZ this evening along the northern horizon. This photo was taken near the city of Maricopa in northwestern Pinal County (photo courtesy: George Burger). Feel free to share your aurora pics here if you get any! Cameras that allow longer exposure times might have a better chance at picking up this light.

I'm about to yell with excitement!!! Arizona saw the Auroa Borealis tonight! At first just a dance. This Solar flare and lights are quite amazing. Go outside!!

This awesome couple began their journey on the AZT 3 years ago when they first heard about thru hiking and the 800 mile National Scenic Trail. They were intrigued. I'm excited they just finished a long stretch & are achieving the goals they've been setting. It was a pleasure helping the Voigts out. Happy Trails.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

Taking care of the gear that takes care of you is a huge part of the investment you make when buying things that save your tail on trail. While airing out and cleaning out all gear after a trip with lots of rain. We found a tiny hole in the quilt. If you've never used tenacious tape. It's a game changer. We highly recommend. Can be used on quilts, air mattresses, tents, down coats.....You name it. Weatherproof & machine washable within 24 hrs! We love tenacious tape. You won't regret adding it to your kit. Anyone else have a favorite items to patch gear with ease?

Our hero! Sometimes folks who operate shuttle services for hikers need an Angel too! Massive shout out to Marc for being the best darn trail Angel. We were so lucky to have you help us. Thanks a million times over friend.

Patagonia, the first resupply town on the AZT, offers bicycle transportation to the laundromat, restaurant, and market. Mary also provides loaner clothes while you do laundry in town. TerraSol.az

04/05/2024

Our room with a view was awesome! TerraSol.az is the most magical place to stay in an Arizona Trail (AZT) town. we love everything about Marys place. Our tent looked out over Mt. Wrightson in the Santa Rita range.

The hiking bubble this year has been rad! Thru-hikers, may your trails be happy and your snacks plentiful! We still have plenty of room for rides from Montezuma Pass to Kearny!

Shout out to Arizona Raft Adventures for the well played Aprils fools joke. Love your sense of humor! Let's keep it wild.

After months of construction and closure the Bright Angel Trail is now officially a regular bus route! ๐Ÿž๏ธ๐ŸšŒ Forget hiking boots, grab your bus pass, and brace yourself for the exciting twists and turns while viewing the scenic views from the comfort of your own seat. Who needs a trail when you can roll in style with the new Phantom Ranch bus route?
UPDATE: We had to do this update. This was posted April 1st. No you cant book this ride and dont worry you still have to hike on the BA trail to get to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. However there is a road to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and we do drive out on it on our rafting trips at river mile 226. The beautiful Diamond Creek Road.

03/31/2024

My absolute favorite coffee view! Grand Canyon at Phantom Ranch just before hiking across the Tonto Platform. What a view.

03/31/2024

Chicken timer may just be one of the most unique trail names this week! This group is hitting the AZT and ready to hike up and over Miller Peak before the next storm rolling in. Happy Trails!

Ok today was a first for us....we love dogs. We were so excited to meet Moose the cattle dog! He was the best boy. He deserves a gold star and some yummy doggie treats. These Thru hikers are getting ready to conquer Miller Peak today plenty of snow on top. I wish you all the best thru hike. Thanks for letting us get you to the Trail Head safe.

Breakfast of champs!!! Here we go. Below the rim and to find my soul. Every time I go. The Grand Canyon provides....it also keeps a little bit of my heart. Cheers to Heather & Tevin. Very first backpacking trip!

The hikers were a fantastic group, filled with determination and positivity! We traversed the backroads with joy and made it to Montezuma Pass safely despite the road closures. Where there's a will, there's a way! We service all the way up to Kearny.
