Important information regarding the test of the National Emergency Alert System taking place TODAY at 11:20 AM.
TODAY at 11:20 a.m., a wireless emergency alert will be sent to every phone in the country for approximately one minute much like previous nationwide tests conducted in 2011, 2019 and 2021. A test message that runs on radio and television will also happen and is nearly identical to the regular Emergency Alert System monthly test messages that are typically heard and seen by the public.
IMPORTANT --- > If you have a hidden phone because you are in a domestic violence situation, you will want to TURN YOUR PHONE OFF and keep it off for at least half an hour. If folks turn the phone on between 11:20 a.m. and 11:50 a.m., the alert may still trigger.
Mark Your Calendars!
On 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟒 𝐚𝐭 𝟏𝟏:𝟐𝟎 𝐀𝐌, FEMA and the FCC will be performing a National Test of the Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) System and the Emergency Alert System (EAS).
You’ll likely recognize the WEA as those Amber Alerts you get on your cell phone and the EAS as those television tests that interrupt your favorite tv show at a crucial moment or your favorite song on the radio.
All major U.S. wireless providers, television networks, and radio stations participate in this test. Remember, this is a test, and only a test. No action is required.

Cascade Water Alliance Customers Asked To Voluntarily Reduce Water Use
We have had an unusually dry summer and the Seattle Regional Water System is facing a potential water shortage this fall. Cascade is asking customers to voluntarily reduce their water use. This will help stretch the region’s water supply for people and fish until we get enough rain this fall to refill the mountain reservoirs to the necessary levels. While the recent rain is helpful, sustained rain in the mountains is needed to sufficiently refill the reservoirs. Even seemingly small daily actions can add up to make a big impact.
