Quick shot of this pair after sanding and oil. The one on the left is available.
Roughed in a couple cutting boards, they will be done very quickly. I like this mix of Bloodwood, Pau Rosa with Canarywood stringers. One is a gift, one could be up for grabs.
First attempt at cutting, and gluing a book match.
We had to put down our fur boy blu this week 😭. He was a most excellent dog. I decided he needed an original box to house his ashes. I hope to be finished before we get him back. Go hug your dogs.
First attempt at dovetail joints. Major test in my patients. Lol. I’m getting there.
Oh 👀 what’s that??
All done and oiled up. This set turned out real nice. I really really like these… a lot. Of course like most things i make, they were built with the intention of being gifted to someone specific
It’s going to be a good one
Canarywood, Pau Rosa, Padauk. Smells awesome
Oh Look, glue and a bunch of clamps
A lite early morning slice and dice. Stay tuned
Well… there’s a nice pallet to work with. What can we do?
I didn’t really make anything all year., so i whipped up this pair of boards just before Christmas. Canarywood, Pau Rosa, and Buninga. Cheers.
Smoking hot! We ran off a batch of shirts for The Green Country Irate.
Finally finished up the antique coffe grinder project. Kinda cool.
Finally got going on this antique coffe grinder box for my brother in law. Never tried the box joints before. It’s a bit mind bending lol.
Commissioned piece. I’ve been tasked to replicate the box for this antique coffee grinder. Time to make sawdust.
Just about ready to break her back down and start the finishing process.
And... frets are done!
The devil is in the details.
Tonight’s efforts.
Starting to look like something. Almost time the carve that neck.
Things are happening
Had to do an emergency surgery, she’s recovering well. Re-drafted all the lines, made some defining body cuts. About time to do the angles for the width of the neck, and get the fingerboard married to it. Still have a ton of stuff to do, but she’s starting to look like a bass.
Oh the smell of walnut in the morning. This is going to look so badass, figuring for days!
Making progress.
This is going to be a special project. This body was glued up and cut out years ago by my good friend Kelly Tuttle, who recently lost his battle with cancer. His son passed it on to me and I’m super stoked to bring her to life. Starting to get the vision, she’s going to have attitude!
