USDA changes Tulsa's plant hardiness zone Gardeners are likely aware of their plant hardiness zone when it comes to choosing what perennials will survive outdoors through the winter. Those zones have recently been updated by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) based upon the 30-year average of the coldest temperature each win...

"We see more women working at the nursery, on new construction job sites, and behind the controls of big equipment every year. Never has there been a better time to be a woman in the building industry - and nothing could be better than working hard with a strong team of women on your side."
End of the season is getting near can you believe it!? ๐ป

๐ Parade of Homes 2023 ๐
๐ณ No Curb appeal award this year but we felt honored already to be apart of 4 amazing homes.
๐ณ Comment below ๐ for Curb appeal award next year!
๐ณ What is the Tulsa Parade of Homes?
Presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater Tulsa, the Greater Tulsa Parade of Homes showcases more than 100 new homes in the Tulsa metro area; giving you the chance to see the latest trends and speak directly with builders.
๐ณ This year's event featured more than 100 homes from more than 50 of the area's top builders and highlight the latest in neighborhood amenities in seven featured subdivisions. Featured homes range in price from $175,000 to more than $1 million.
๐ If you have bagworms on your tree, here are some steps you can take to address the issue:
1. Identify the bagworms: Bagworms are caterpillars that create protective bags made of silk and plant material, which they attach to tree branches. They can be identified by their cone-shaped bags that hang from the branches.
2. Manual removal: If the infestation is small, you can manually remove the bags by hand. Wear gloves and carefully pick off the bags, ensuring you remove both the bag and the caterpillar inside. Dispose of the bags in a sealed bag or container to prevent reinfestation.
3. Pruning: If the infestation is extensive, you may need to prune heavily infested branches. Cut off the branches at least 6 inches below the last visible bag to ensure you remove all the caterpillars. Dispose of the pruned branches away from the tree to prevent the spread of bagworms.
4. Biological control: Consider introducing natural predators of bagworms, such as birds or parasitic wasps, to help control the population. You can attract birds by providing bird feeders or birdhouses near the infested tree.
5. Insecticides: If the infestation is severe and other methods have not been effective, you may consider using insecticides. Consult with a professional arborist or local extension service to determine the most appropriate insecticide and application method for your specific situation. Follow all instructions and safety precautions when using insecticides.
6. Preventive measures: To prevent future infestations, maintain good tree health by watering, fertilizing, and pruning properly. Regularly inspect your trees for signs of bagworms or other pests, and take prompt action if you notice any infestations.
Remember, it's important to act quickly to control bagworms as they can cause significant damage to trees if left untreated. ๐
