January is just around the corner. That is the time of year that many resolve to work on losing those extra pounds of body weight. But the Lord encourages us to “Don’t Wait to Drop the Weight.”
Simply defined, a weight is something heavy. Thus, a weight can be an object that is heavy, such as a boulder. A weight can also be something that oppresses or hinders one from doing something. While some hindrances we encounter are part of Satan’s tactics to entrap us and keep us from growing and developing in Christ, there are some things in our life as well as within our being that have the potential of becoming a hindrance to us.
Now is the time to do a self-assessment and subsequently take the initiative to get rid of anything that may get us off track from carrying out the mandate of Christ or that may get us off course of fulfilling our purpose on earth.
Over the course of time, many poetic verses have been pinned to capture the events surrounding Jesus' crucifixion, death, burial, and resurrection. One of such is the beloved composition entitled "The Crucifixion" by James Weldon Johnson. May it encourage our reflection on the Sacrifice of Jesus to bring Salvation to mankind.

Queen Elizabeth II graciously fulfilled her pledge to devote herself and her life’s work to service. As the longest-lived and longest-reigning British monarch, she leaves a unique legacy clothed in honor, dignity, and admiration.
We honor her life and legacy and join with many throughout the world whose hearts are bowed in sorrow at her earthly transition. May her family find peace and comfort in knowing that your family’s matriarch was a monumental leader and courageous servant in fulfilling all that was assigned to her hands.
