The Christmas season is now upon us! One of my colleagues in Cotton State Santas (an fellowship of real bearded Santas who are based in Alabama) posted this image of him with his granddaughter after his home town’s tree lighting ceremony, and I found it so delightful that I couldn’t resist sharing it.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope that my services can make your events bright, light, and when appropriate, tender, for these are what Santa is all about.

The seed of this venture was sown in January 2022. I'd let my beard grow a few months earlier after skipping my shaving routine due to a few hectic days. A similarly bearded fellow approached me in a restaurant, asked if I portrayed Santa, and then explained that more portrayal artists are needed, After attending one of his group's (Cotton State Santas) off-season social events and doing a little research, I decided to have a go at it.

My performance background includes Shakespeare, musical theatre, choral singing, folk singing, and even a stint as a singing telegram messenger. Growing up in a family of six kids added to the mix as well. :- ) Other aspects of my experience may also be glimpsed at https://tiny.cc/dws-visualbio.
