The Maryland Montessori Private School Fair has been canceled on Saturday, March 14, based on the State of Maryland declaring a state of emergency yesterday to focus its COVID-19 (Coronavirus) response.

Despite the difficult decision to cancel this event, we continue to encourage parents who are in the process of seeking information on available Montessori schools in the area to go online to learn more about our community of schools for enrollment next school year.

We have compiled a list of schools, along with their website addresses and phone numbers to help interested parents research, evaluate, schedule future visits and enroll in the Montessori school that best meets the needs of your family and children.

In the weeks and months ahead, our mission is to continue to grow the Maryland Montessori community, raise awareness of public school alternatives and provide parents with the resources they need to determine if Montessori is the right fit for the educational needs of their children.

The Rock Creek Montessori School, located in a beautiful wooded setting in Silver Spring, MD, serves children from 18 months through kindergarten using the philosophy and curriculum of Dr. Maria Montessori. The Rock Creek Montessori School is a five day per week program. The main goal of the program is to help children develop a rapport with their environment and to support them as they develop physical, social and intellectual independence. The teacher follows each child’s progress and presents carefully designed lessons and materials on a one-to-one basis as the child is ready.

Mater Amoris Montessori School serves primary and elementary school children from 2.5 to 12 years old. Our 13-acre, beautiful country campus in Ashton, Maryland brings students into close contact with nature, where they enjoy clear air and spacious surroundings. Education at Mater Amoris is purposeful, but allows for spontaneous learning. Children learn at their own pace and are not beholden to standardized test scores.
