Quick tip if you’re ever involved in a car accident - especially one that was not your fault.
Assuming everyone is okay and you are safe - you need to do everything in your power to get the other persons insurance info. Name, Insurance Company, policy number BEFORE the Police arrive.
Before? Why? Because the police are going to separate you and the other party to find out what happened.
Nbd. But…
If you don’t get the other parties info, the officer is not going to share it with you at that time. They are going to put it in the report - which typically takes almost a week to get.
A week is an eternity when your car is all busted up…
And if you have to wait for the report - you've put about a 5-7 business day delay on your claim.
Something to think about. Grab that info!
