Dear friends,
Messaging you today and thankfulness and in tears. Pat Rasmusse, a dear friend and beloved colleague, teacher, and fellow lover of humans and nature has passed from walking on this earth.
I'm thankful for the love, the smiles and the songs that we've shared.. I also have to say that much of my success in the Pacific Northwest can be traced back to this beloved human believing in my vision for community and close to free education and research of restoration of some of the most highly depleted lands in this world. Pat, read some of my work and believed in my vision and invited me to be the keynote speaker at the Northwest permaculture convergence years ago. She also encouraged and inspired me to start a system of both education and restoration and intensive community, restoring land and sharing knowledge non hierarchically.
This vision grew into what I do today. Thank you Pat for being my cheerleader, for answering all my emails for my workshops, for scheduling and answering questions from students and bookings for speaking engagements. She was the voice behind my emails answered on time, she was the voice that answered the phone and figured out how to get people scholarships to close to free workshops that we offered together, she walked gently on the land with her walking stick and with her goats by her side.
Thank you Pat for the love you shared me as a sister, as a mother, as a friend... Thank you for believing and listening to nature with me... Thank you for saying yes to big ideas and even when you couldn't walk due to illness, you still answered the phone and book to my trips and rallied volunteers and arranged for sight evaluations around the Pacific Northwest.
What succeeded much by the hands of Pat has grown and replicated across the world. People in Panama are taught to restore huge amounts of land using the same system that Pat believed in.
I ask people today.
How can we humble ourself before nature and not say we know, but say we'd like to listen?
How can we create systems of community that aren't based on hierarchy but based on gentle flow and smiles of sharing?
How can we not dominate land but dance with it?
Thank you Pat

As we did in 2019 Plan to share Fire, Kitchen and Food as a community. Each person is responsible for bringing and preparing their own food but are welcome to join in this communal kitchen sharing event.
How this works:
1. Bring a Prepared dish for Friday night Potluck. Enough for your party and a little extra in case someone did not bring anything.
2. Bring raw Food enough to cover yourself and party the weekend: Rice, pasta, grains, beans, produce, oils, onions, garlic, peppers, staples, salad fix ins, oatmeal, fruits, herbs, bread.
3. Bring Your own Eating Bowl/Plate/cup and eating utensils ( maybe an extra in case someone forgot)
4. Volunteer in the kitchen offer to help clean and prepare. Kitchen will have a small team that will lead and guide as we make oatmeal, soups, Salads Etc.
5. Coffee and tea will be provided
6. As a Community we come together and create some amazing food and memories!!

Three closest friends and my three greatest teachers... Young humans who have had the honor of attending to for the past two weeks. The most magnificent and euphoric human experiences have ever indulged in. Thank you for the smiles and the tears and for the adventures we share... I look forward to more dances as it is harmonious throughout our lives. It's an honor to be called "Papa" by these three amazing humans.
Let's join together tomorrow at 10 am
The capacity to be alone is the capacity to love. It may look paradoxical to you, but it's not. It is an existential truth: only those people who are capable of being alone are capable of love, of sharing, of going into the deepest core of another person--without possessing the other, without becoming dependent on the other, without reducing the other to a thing, and without becoming addicted to the other. They allow the other absolute freedom, because they know that if the other leaves, they will be as happy as they are now. Their happiness cannot be taken by the other, because it is not given by the other.
I'm so thankful for the honor of caring for these three amazing humans... Thank you for making me a Papa by dancing in this life together... May our dance be that of peace, love and Harmony in this world.
What gifts from the Earth
Bubbling with joy after sharing amazing time with amazing humans from Maryland down to South Carolina over the past 7 days seen the most beautiful pieces of land tended by amazing humans
I'm honored to have stewarded this land for many years and brought it from a degenerative state, by jumping into a dance with the all-powerful nature and finding harmony with her in my actions.. I'm so thankful to now see this land fruit such abundant thing such as water coming out as springs and the pond that I dug full of water and beautiful wildlife casting shadows... I'm thankful to have learned so much from such Glory in transition... I'm also thankful for new stewards of the land who still allow me to be ravished in its Glory for the years to come... I'm thankful for Harmony and peace today.
I'm here for all who want to learn some of the things that nature has taught me over thousands of acres of dance with such metamorphosis... I am here for you to learn together with the land that you tend... You are welcome to share this with friends as an invitation to dance with nature together.. @ Merrick, Oklahoma
My new project... Working together with community to shape an orchard in the a harmonious symbiotic food Forest.... Our nature is to be part of the harmony that nature does naturally... From that Harmony flows abundance that we can share... This perspective starts in our hearts and flows through us into the soil and then back into mouths and souls.
