Hi there! I'm a Registered Dietitian who helps people improve their health through Plant-based nutri
❓If someone have type 2 diabetes, can they get off exogenous insulin (insulin that you inject or pump into your body)?❓
The answer is: Possibly.
If someone’s body is still producing insulin, and they work on reversing insulin resistance, they can indeed get off insulin.
As they increase insulin sensitivity, their body won’t need the extra insulin to maintain normal blood sugars.
However, some people with type 2 diabetes can lose their ability to produce insulin due to years of exhausting their beta cells.
If that’s the case, one still has to be on exogenous insulin- but can improve insulin ratio and time-in-range if they work on reversing insulin resistance.
Research shows that around 50% of people who have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes for 9-10 years will develop insulin-dependency.
So in a nutshell, if you want to reverse type 2 diabetes and get off medications, the sooner you start, the better. (If you need help, message me “HELP” and I’ll send you a message to see how I can help)😊
P.S. This is NOT medical advice, please consult your medical team. We help people change their diets so they can lower their blood sugar- their doctors will be the one to de-prescribe if necessary!
💊Why bother getting off medications?💊
Have you ever had someone say to you, “Why bother pushing so hard? You don’t need to. You’re good. Just take your pills and you’ll be fine.”
This sentence was told to my clients many a times.
But sometimes- if people haven’t seen it done, they don’t think it can happen.
Many of my clients’ family members also have type 2 diabetes, but they’ve had it most of their life and they just managed it with medication.
They never knew they can actually be taken off of it once they change their lifestyle.
They never knew that they can one day:
-not bring a big bag of meds with them whenever they travel
-not have to worry about the side effects of medications
-truly feel free from type 2 diabetes...
Stephen did it.
Ezekiel did it.
Emily did it.
Carlos did it.
(You can actually watch their stories on my youtube.)
Getting off diabetic medications can be possible for you, too.
Believe in yourself.
Bet on yourself.
Invest in yourself.

Two is better than one.
I thank God every day that I have my best friend to do everything in life with me.
What people don’t know is, Brandon (my husband) is actually the catalyst to me changing my diet to Whole Foods plantbased.
He was actually the one who wanted to change his lifestyle- and we did it together.
It makes it so much easier when two people are on the same diet/ lifestyle- the lifestyle sticks when you can encourage each other.
TWO TYPES
I'm not talking about types of diabetes here...
I'm talking about attitudes.
I realize that there's two types of people.
One type, they shut themselves off from this world, pretending like this never happened. They stay stagnant.
Another type...I admire this type
They use this time to learn something new, gain a new skill, get healthier, turn their lives around. They come out stronger, healthier, better.
The thing is, YOU can choose which type you are going to be.
Think fruits is the cause of diabetes?
There's a great amount of scientific evidence that show that the build up of FATTY ACIDS in cells are what ACTUALLY contributes to insulin resistance, which in turn contributes to Pre-diabetes & Type 2 diabetes.
So, instead of cutting out the healthy carbs like fruits or whole grains...
Let's focus on the root problem- lowering the fatty acids in the cells with plant-based eating!
