*Story Time*
This beautiful piece is about 6’8x4 feet and weighs approximately 150-175 lbs.
We had a pretty challenging time trying to bring up the stairs and through really tight corners.
As you can see in picture 2, we could not turn it around the corner due to the size, we also couldn't lift it over the stair arms because of a chandelier right above. After trying different things unsuccessfully, we were ready to tell the customer that it was impossible to get it up there. However, the client really wanted the piece and didn't want to return it.
We ended up finding a solution that was risky but possible. The only downside with it would be a couple of scratches on the wall but the customer was ok with it.
We decided to bring the piece down a few steps and lift it to the top of the second floor and hook the legs on the edge of the 2nd floorboard (Picture 3) without going around the landing.
Once the legs were hooked the person closer to the stair landing would lift the other end of the piece and hold while the other person would go on the second floor and pull the side that was hooked on the edge.
This last part mentioned was the hardest part because while holding the item up we realized that it needed to be even higher, but it wasn't possible because the person holding it up was already on the edge of the step going down😅
Long story short we got it up there safely with no damage. Only a couple of scratches on the wall that just need paint touch-up!
Overall it all worked out the customer was happy and we've completed the job.

This specific customer used a trucksharing app. There are trucksharing apps that mimic the ridesharing model and it essentially allows anyone with a truck to pickup and deliver items on demand. Trust me when I say that you don’t want just anybody to bring heavy and large items in and out of your house without the proper training. Not only are your valuable items at risk, but your walls and safety will be at risk too.

We’ve done a few piano deliveries since we started. We've noticed that most of the clients we help struggle to find the right team/company due to the instrument’s weight. Most companies won't do it or will give up on the job on-site once they realize how heavy it is.
For this specific delivery, our client was told by other companies that they will need 4 helpers for the job. We’ve convinced the client that we can get it done safely with just two helpers and that's exactly what we did.
If you ever need a piano delivered make sure you have the right team. This instrument is fragile but very heavy, it requires more technique than muscle to be safely moved!
