A little late to the game but I wanted to remind you that Fourth Of July can be a little scary for some of our furry critters. More pets go missing on this holiday than any other.
Here are some tips and reminders to keep your furry friend safe:
-reserve a quiet dark space in your home (closet, washroom)
-play some music, Dog.tv
-make it comfy so they can dream about chasing rabbits and not have fear over loud booms
-living better through chemistry ✨
-make sure you have updated information on all I.D. tags

Core vaccines are ESSENTIAL in helping your puppy or adult pet stay healthy for life!
BUT you know what is even worse, the disease itself especially Parvovirus. I’ve seen it, many times over and over again. My heart breaks along with other veterinary professionals when you see it and know it could’ve been prevented.
So here are a few tips to keep your fur baby healthy:
1) Please follow appropriate vaccination schedules for your doggies and stay up to date
2) If you get a new puppy, do not let it travel outside of your home until it has received the proper vaccines
3) If your dog has diarrhea or vomiting, contact your veterinarian. Especially if you are concerned about the vaccination status

Her parents are very worried because she has NEVER done anything like this. Please pray she comes back home soon. She is dearly loved! She can be timid but friendly.
Does not play well with others sometimes. She only LOVES her brother Snax. If you can please let me know if you see her out and about. PLEASE HELP GET IZZY HOME.

Today is a bittersweet day. After many weeks of beating my husband (absolutely just kidding), we welcomed a SIXTH dog into our home. We were now a family of 10. No kids. He went on this short foster journey with me after weeks of sitting with Bruno at the shelter, and learning more about him while he learned to trust me. There were lots of things that drew me to him. At first it was his story, shelter medicine is not for the weak but I might be weak.
Then it was a sneaking resemblance to my childhood dog who was 1 day out from being put down. My sister wanted him and at that time I didn’t understand or begin to anticipate the companionship he would bring our family.
So Yes, I talk about Bruno 🎶 I couldn’t shut up about him and how much I just felt for this good dog. All dogs are good dogs, they just need the time and attention.
My husband encouragingly said “bring him home!” gosh I love that guy. He’s a much better person than me. I felt that he would get along with our pack but I made a promise to him that I’d find him a home that could give this senior guy love and attention and spoiled to no end. So today my journey ends with Bruno. Here we depart. I will forever be his foster mom and what an experience to have loved a dog that you say goodbye too. Different than crossing over the rainbow bridge. Different kind of heart ache.
It opens our home up to “another” sixth pack member when the time is right.
This time, I didn’t fail. Consider fostering, black dogs and cats are so much harder to get adopted because of peoples pre-conceived notions.

Never Forget those of the two legged and four legged heroes that risked their lives and those that lost their lives. Please pray for those souls.

HELP! A Healthy Paws pet needs help!! Perkins got out of boarding yesterday mid-afternoon and his parents are currently traveling. He’s such a sweet boy and as a member of the loveable pack that makes up Healthy Paws, I am asking for you to keep an eye out for him! He is why and nervous around new people. But we think he is trying to make his way home north of I-70 off of 25 1/2 Rd. He was last seen trying to get across the freeway off 26rd. Please help me and his owners find him! If you spot him, please call/text or message me and details of the sighting. Mikaela and I will be out today keeping an eye out. But i love him like my own! He’s got to get home! Much appreciated!

I won’t be able to schedule any visits for about 1-2 weeks. I had to cancel everything as I just. Came down with strep throat. I’m experiencing a lot of symptoms so if you need to get ahold of me, text is best. It won’t require me to talk because right now it feels like a melon is in my throat. Thank you!

One of my favorite things is watching my patients grow up! Got to see this baby, June Carter now that she’s junior. Maine c***s go through many life stages and I am so happy to see her doing big girl things like hunting outdoors. Sadly, her brother was off having fun in the woods so I didn’t get to visit with Johnny Cash. Just love these two! ***sofinstagram

This good boy has been with Healthy Paws since he was weeks old. Just got to visit with him for his big boy boosters now that he’s 1! We love to see them grow! No matter the age, we love to see them grow and stay healthy.

Truly going mobile today. I get to be so flexible with my job and take some time to spay and neuter animals of Mesa County who are looking for forever homes. I was on the “bus” today with a wonderful team. Cat and I lead a team with a vet tech student, vet student and our wonderful volunteer helping anesthetize and recover pets to make sure they can all go to wonderful homes.
