THERE'S NO PROBLEM TOO BIG FOR MILLIONS OF TAXPAYER DOLLARS: that's what Lauren Staley Ferry thinks!

In 2021, LSF asked for $1.9 million over and above her $4M+ budget. She claimed it would save over $507,000 per year, so it would pay for itself in 4 years, so she got it.

In 2023 she plans to ask for $14.5 MILLION over and above her $4M+ budget!

She wants to replace ALL the tabulating machines and electronic pollbooks. WHY?

How can the county avoid raising taxes with requests like this?

Vote for Gretchen Fritz for Will County Clerk and stop the spending spree.

Staley Ferry Electioneering in Polling Place

Every time we vote, we see signage about the prohibition against electioneering in a polling place. Any electioneering must be at least 100 feet from the door of any polling place. See photo below. Yet in the Will County Building, not 20 feet from that sign is a sign with Lauren Staley Ferry’s name and photo on it, looking like an 8-foot-high piece of campaign literature. (See photo.) There is also a background for taking selfies repeatedly emblazoned with Staley Ferry’s name.

Even worse, a tablecloth had been placed on the table where the election judges sit. The tablecloth was printed with “Lauren Staley Ferry” and a photo. (See photo.)

Surely the woman who runs the elections knows the election rules. But Staley Ferry sees no problem with her name and face appearing all over inside the polling place at 302 N. Chicago in Joliet.

Republican candidate for Will County Clerk Gretchen Fritz made an official objection on Friday, October 14. Fritz was completely disregarded by Deputy Clerk Charles Pelkie. Clerk Staley Ferry spoke with Fritz about the matter, but Staley Ferry made it clear that she believed she was not violating the prohibition against electioneering in polling places.

The reason that electioneering is not allowed in polling places is so that voters are not unduly influenced immediately before or while they are voting. When the last name you see before you vote belongs to the incumbent clerk, the subconscious effect of that is strong and the intent is obvious.

Will County Clerk Encourages Citizens to Become Election Judges - 1340 WJOL 30/03/2022

“The County Clerk’s staff will contact applicants to schedule training.” This is patently false. The Will County Republican Central Committee knows of at least 15 people who have expressed their desire to serve as election judges but have not been contacted by the Clerk’s office. They have also reversed themselves on allowing appointed precinct committeemen to serve as election judges, despite our lawyer’s opinion that they qualify under Illinois statute. We have at least 12 people who are appointed PCs who would like to serve as election judges as well. If the Clerk’s office is as desperate for election judges as they say they are, they would follow up with every available citizen.
