A small simple way to help regulate your nervous system. It starts with mindfulness and your senses are your superpowers when it comes to stillness. Where ever you are, PAUSE. Take deeeeeep breaths in. Close your eyes. Listen to the noises around you or even within you. Feel your body. Touch your body. Come home to your body. Give yourself a hug. Why? Because you've got you. โค๏ธ

This is for you if you have done some healing, but know there is still more to uncover and dive deeper with. Maybe you are on the brink of burnout. I sometimes get frustrated with myself even though my mindset has been doing good, life is actually really great and I "shouldn't" have anything to complain about because "someone always has it worse", yet somehow I keep repeating the same patterns or what I thought I healed still comes up. Then my mind likes to take me into a spiral and tries to focus on everything else going bad in my life - even though life is actually great! What a cycle!

Chances are, when these things arise its our mind and body telling us, "hey sis, pay more attention to me k?" Here are some ideas on how you can start having a better relationship with your mind, body, and spirit.

I am married to my best friend Steven Johnson and have 3 girls- Sophia, Kensley and Hadleigh. I am more of a homebody than people realize. I'd rather hang with my family than go out with friends most of the time. ๐Ÿฅฐ

Human Design I am a 5/1 Generator. I know what practical solutions will be helpful in any given circumstance and I am an in depth researcher. I dig deep and have to know how and why things work. If I can't figure it out, I use my gut. My intuition is strong.

I have healed my body from PCOS, Endometrioses, Hypothyroidism, and Fibromyalgia. I help others heal their bodies too. I dig deep to the root of why its your diagnosis. I believe every physical symptom/illness has a probable emotional cause linked to it. Yes, including depression and anxiety. I have healed those too. Oh, and now I am working on healing my ADHD. ๐Ÿคฏ

I've had lots of trauma throughout life, but that can be saved for another post. Lets just say I've healed my nervous system with it all and now I help you do the same!

Over the last several years I have been slowly exiting the organized religion I clung so tightly to my whole life, and even served a mission for. My experience with this is different than most. In fact my sweet husband is still an active member. I am even more connected to God and spiritual than I was before.โค๏ธ

I don't watch movies/tv much and if I do, I have to be doing something to keep busy.

I am a sunrise, sunset girl. Nature is everything to me. I find beauty in the simplest things. ๐ŸŒ… The outdoors are my safe haven.

I have an interdisciplinary degree in biology, psychology, and physical education. I am certified in somatic breathwork and 7 other types, hypnotherapy, EFT tapping, Yoga, and more! I am always learning and adding new modalities to my belt.

Are you always on your phone?... "Working", and your child notices and asks you to "get off your phone". That's a realllly big sign for you mama-you need reconnection with yourself and with your kiddos. Isn't what you are doing ultimately to bless your family and help you be more present with them?

Sometimes the most meaningful connections are found when we disconnect from the noise and distractions of the world and reconnect with ourselves. It's okay to set more firm boundaries. Its okay to have "office hours". Its okay to put your phone down and leave it in another room. Its okay to actually turn it off. In the stillness, we rediscover our inner voice, our passions, and our true essence, and remember the reason WHY we are doing this whole entrepreneur thing to begin with. Take time to unplug, disconnect from technology, reconnect with the present moment, recharge, reflect, and nurture your well-being so you can show up as the person you want to be. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’–

๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’ซ Many of us are in rebuilding stages of our lives. I once felt like I had to ignore or erase the past as I have been treading new waters. But then... I realized I have needed to put my energy and focus on the present and wholeheartedly embrace the new. The new life. The newness in me. The new beliefs. The new friends. The new relationship with God and my spouse. I love this season of NEW. ๐ŸŒฟโœจ

Have you ever felt "burnt out". I SURE HAVE!!! Burnout wears many masks โ€“ exhaustion, emotional overwhelm, insomnia, triggers, stress eating, lost motivation, irritability, etc. That's why we want to TAKE CARE OF OURSELVES BEFORE WE GET THERE!!! It's crucial to listen to whispers from your mind, body and spirit as they come. Yelling at your kids more than usual?.. thats a sign. Not sleeping well?... thats a sign. Finding annoyance with your spouse?.. thats a sign. Don't want to respond to texts or calls?... thats a sign. Feeling bloated?... thats a sign. Distancing yourself from others... thats a sign.

Loving yourself means tuning into these signals, pausing, and prioritizing the self-care that is the actual preventative to burn out. ๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŒฟ

Once a week I share a little post like this of simple, doable ideas that will help you regulate your nervous system. STOP overcomplicating healing. It all comes back to the time you take to care for yourself instead of numbing out. Its being present with yourself so you can do REAL self-care that refuels and recharges you. Daily self-care should be renewing and edifying to your mind, your body, and your spirit!! Be sure to save this for later.

Our bodies speak volumes about our well-being!! They are always trying to communicate to us, but are you actually listening?.... With EVERY physical ailment you experience, there is a probable emotional and mental cause. Remember when I bled for 13 months?... yeah there was a reason. It was just because my body "betrayed" me. It was much deeper than I thought. It usually always is!

Awareness is the first step to healingโ€”listen closely, honor your body's signals, and then you begin enjoying the journey of self-regulation. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿง  Reach out to me for questions regarding how to heal your body, mind, and oh.. spirit!

You KNOW I am a nature j***y and there are just too many parallels when it comes to the creation of the world and the creation of the human body...... Just as a tree's roots anchor and nourish its growth, our nervous system serves as the roots of our well-being, (literally structured the same). The intricate network of our brain and nervous system mirrors the resilience (and image) of a tree's roots, connecting, stabilizing, and providing the foundation for our personal growth and self-discovery. Just like nature needs to be nurtured (naturally) WE DO TOO!!! โ€”good thing I teach you how to do this every single day! ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ’ก If the trees roots aren't strong, the tree with die. Same with us, if we aren't paying attention to THE ROOT of the problem.... then well.. you will get sick. Your issues won't resolve and well..... you fill in the blank.

Your beliefs are the roots of your self-love journey and the core of a regulated nervous system. There are many women I work with that don't believe in themselves or believe they can change. Well let me tell you... You actually can. I was the same way. I didn't believe I could really make a difference until one day, my therapist looked at me in the eye and said 'Sara, let me have the belief in you until you have that belief in yourself.' Those words changed my life forever... Someone actually believed in me?.. That was crazy to feel! and now I get to hold that space for women who have been where I have been. I get to reach back and lift you where you are. Why?.. because I love you and I believe in you. YOU CAN actually love yourself and heal your body.
