It really is puzzling how this happens, almost every year, for the past 60 years.

Just sayin 👀 thankfully pretty much all the cops I know will put the constitution before an unlawful order, but we may been needing some 1776 sooner than later.

Now I don’t agree with his policies, but I disagree that an elected representative can be voted out by the legislative body after being elected by their community for going against the majority. Had I been elected, I imagine I’d of been expelled too for challenging the status quo. This is a dangerous precedent

The Tennessee House voted to expel Memphis Representative Justin Pearson from the legislature in a 69-26 decision Thursday.

Nashville Rep. Justin Jones was also expelled.

Knoxville Rep. Gloria Johnson was the only Democratic member who survived Thursday's vote.

For 2023, we’re set to bring in record revenue at the federal level. If we can get our spending back to 2019 levels, we’ll have a 200 billion dollar surplus.

I just solved our current fiscal crisis they’re debating in Washington.

17/01/2023

Morning everyone! I know the midterms are barely behind us, but we are already looking forward to 2024. Many folks I’ve talked to have expressed their frustration with Steve Cohen, who now represents half of Tipton County. Flipping Memphis will be difficult, but if anyone can do it, I believe that person is Mr Antwane Bohanon.

I’ve known Antwane for a few years now, and I can assure you that he is a man of principle, and the right fit to represent you in Washington. To help him kick off his campaign, I made a $100 donation. Will you send him a few dollars to help get him going? I’ll include the link to his website below in the comments where you can learn more and donate.

Thanks y’all, looking forward to electing some new faces next year!

What are your thoughts on McCarthy failing yet again to gain enough support to lead the House?

This was an awesome event I got to take place in last year. As a veteran, if you’d like to learn more about the legislative process I strongly recommend your attendance.

Information on Attending – Tennessee Veterans Early each February, TNVET organizes and conducts “Veterans Day On The Hill” in the Cordell Hull State Office Building in Nashville (425 Rep. Good news about the campaign ending is I can focus my full attention back on the causes I care about. If you’re alone this holiday season, please join us on Thursday for a warm meal and great camaraderie. Food service starts at 2. While our target audience is veterans or active service members, this event is open to the public for anyone who doesn’t have family here locally.

Please join us, and feel free to message or comment with any questions.

I really appreciate everyone that reached out today and checked in. It’s tough going against the well funded and experienced political system. Over 2300 voters have decided the system isn’t working as designed and stepped outside the norm. The parties are alienating folks constantly, so our time will come where we stand together as a united front against an authoritative government.

Last post for a bit, thank you all again for all the support!

09/11/2022

Sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose...

Thank you all for the opportunity and the lessons that came with it!

Huge thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and in some way assisted throughout the campaign! We ran a great campaign on limited resources and managed to pull in 2324 votes.

It's unclear whether or not I will run another campaign or assist someone else in theirs in 2024, but one way or another you’ll continue to see me around in the community.

Right now, I am just thankful to be off the campaign trail and to be getting married this weekend!

I encourage everyone to stay involved and hold those we just elected to office accountable, and demand transparency from those elected to represent our needs.

Thank you again,

Nick

Tomorrows the big day!

Photos from Nick Sawall's post 07/11/2022

Tomorrow is Election Day. Thanks to 95.3 for having me in the studio today to talk to the constituents of District 81. Please take the time to vote tomorrow if you didn’t make it to early vote. It’s time to let our elected officials know enough is enough.

07/11/2022

Election Day is tomorrow. Please help us spread the word that we finally have someone that will represent you. Tell your family and friends to get out to vote tomorrow! Together, we can be the change we want to see.

Took the weekend off from campaigning to spend time with my veteran family. Mr John Abbot celebrated his 100th birthday Friday night, and then had a great time yesterday at the Millington Veterans Day Parade with my Irreverent Warriors family. Hope everyone enjoyed their extra hour this morning, unfortunately for me, my internal clock didn’t care what the actual clock said and I’ve been up for 3 hours now. Happy Sunday everyone!

04/11/2022

Big news! Thanks to some last minute donations, we recorded and booked air time for a radio ad today! There’s not a good way to put audio on Facebook or Instagram, so I added some pictures I’ve taken over the past few months from the campaign trail, and a few memes. Let me know what you think. Tune in to 93.5 FM WKBQ US 51 Country Covington to hear it this weekend!

04/11/2022

Early voting has concluded! 8,474 ballots were cast in Tipton and 1883 were cast in Haywood. Tipton turn out is down about 35% from 2018 and Haywood was down about 45%. Using that estimate for next Tuesday, we only need about 5000 votes to win this thing.

Victory is in reach! Big thanks to everyone who already voted. Please encourage your family and friends to get out and vote for a real change. If you haven’t voted yet, please make time Tuesday. Voting will be at your home voting location. If you need help figuring out where to vote, or are having trouble getting to the polls, please let me know and I’ll see if I can help arrange you transportation. Together, we can bring the change we want to see!

02/11/2022

Morning everyone!

Today and tomorrow will wrap up early voting. In Tipton, we had 269 voters, and in Haywood we had 223, which is great for Haywood but way under the average we’ve been having in Tipton. Polls are open today from 9-5 in Tipton and 9-1 in Haywood.

If you don’t get your vote in today or tomorrow, your last option to vote is next Tuesday the 8th, from 7-7 at your precinct.

Get out to vote!

01/11/2022

We had a great time over the weekend at the Brighton Fall Festival. Great job to Mayor Washam and her team for putting that together and adapting to a changing environment. It’s still hard for me to believe that we are a week out from Election Day. You have 3 more days to early vote, 9-5 today through Thursday in Tipton, or today and Thursday from 1-6 or tomorrow 9-1 in Haywood.

Make sure you vote, tell your friends to vote, and I encourage you to share who you’re voting for and why. There are enough names on the ballot to where you don’t have to vote for one solely because they aren’t another. It’s time to vote for who we believe in.

31/10/2022

Early voting is still going on!

Didn’t do a morning post because I didn’t get Saturdays numbers, but they sent it with todays. Tipton had 407 voters on Saturday, and 621 today. Voting ends this Thursday, and they are open 9-5 until then. Haywood had 151 today, and is open 1-6 tomorrow.

Grabbing some dinner tonight and saw my friend and local business owner Jay Smith with Bad Boy Bakery. Make sure you’re supporting local businesses!

29/10/2022

Mornin everyone. Happy Saturday!

Today is your last Saturday to vote! Polls are open today from 9-1 in both Tipton and Haywood counties. On Thursday Tipton has 518 voters and yesterday is was 673. Haywood had 89 voters yesterday.

If you’re looking for something to do today before this weather comes in, I’ll be set up at the Brighton fall festival passing out candy, stickers, and pamphlets from 10-4. Hope to see you there!

Happy Friday everyone!

No update from Tipton last night, so not sure how many voters we had yesterday. Polls are open today from 9-5. Haywood county had 145 votes cast and they are open from 9-1.

Todays meme is a throwback to the first time I personally saw the news media whip everyone into a frenzy, the Y2K “crisis.” Do y’all remember this? When we were convinced every computer would shut down at midnight going into the year 2000? Man that was crazy times.

I’d like to take this time to remind you that most news media are for profit companies. They make money on viewer numbers thru advertising. If they don’t have people watching, they go out of business, so they are directly benefited by scandalous headlines and fear mongering. Just keep that in mind as you watch the news.

6 more days to early vote! Make sure you get out and have your voice be heard.

27/10/2022

Hey y’all, Thursday update.

There is one more week of early voting, it ends next Thursday, the 3rd. 510 people voted on Tuesday, and 584 yesterday in Tipton county. Polls are open 9-5 today in Tipton. 96 voted in Haywood county. Polls are open in Haywood from 1-6 today.

Most of my time in the military I was acting as a mechanic. It wasn’t my official job, but because I was good at it, that’s what I was assigned to do. Since getting out of the Army, I spent 8 years doing industrial maintenance while I pursued my Industrial Engineering degree at Memphis. I am currently a controls engineer, and use my troubleshooting skills on a daily basis to fix various issues. My next job is to fix our broken government.

Together, we can be the change we want to see. Make sure you get out to vote!

26/10/2022

PSA because I see this every year…

No one is passing out drug laced candy. While I am a supporter of legalizing cannabis, this is a tactic from those who are pushing for continued prohibition in order to cause panic every Halloween. I’ll give an example from a distributor I know.

Southern Sugar Leaf sells legal, D8 and D9 THC candies. Their packaging specifies exactly how much of a dose you’re getting, and a single chocolate bar costs $25. If you look at the gummies, it’s $25 for a pack of 6.

So let’s quit spreading this rumor every year. These items are far to expensive for anyone to pass out, and I don’t know of instance in the whole country of this ever actually happening.

This concludes your public service announcement.

26/10/2022

No morning update today because I didn’t get any numbers from Tipton county. Haywood had 109 voters yesterday and their polls are open 9-1. Tipton county polls are open from 9-5 today. If you haven’t got out to vote yet, you have 8 more days to early vote, and then Election Day on the 8th. This election is going to favor those who show up, so please get out and vote!

25/10/2022

Morning everyone, happy Tuesday! We are 2 weeks from Election Day, and on day 6 of early voting. Yesterday in Tipton we had 654 votes cast and 99 votes in Haywood. Secretary of State still has us trending about 48% lower than the turn out per day of early voting.

Everyone likes to focus on the Presidential elections, but our President has almost no say in what happens here in Tipton County. Local elections set most of the laws that you must follow daily. Local elections determine how much you pay in sales and property taxes. Local elections steer the direction of our community and fuel or limits its growth.

Counting today, you have 9 more days to cast your ballot before Election Day on the 8th. Please take a few minutes and cast your vote.

Thanks, and I hope you enjoy this beautiful sunrise I captured in the school drop off line.

24/10/2022

Feedback needed!

Ok y’all I’d like to get some opinions before I do something. If you’re anything like me, you’ve been getting a ton of texts from other politicians or organizations…what do y’all think about them?

Are you annoyed when you receive them? Do you read them and respond? Do you think they work? Most of my friends have said they’re annoying, so before I go this route in our final push, I want to know how you feel about them.

Please let me know in the comments or shoot me a message.

Thanks,
Nick

24/10/2022

Early voting continues today from 9-5 in Tipton and 9-1 in Haywood. We have about a week and a half left of early voting…please get out to vote, encourage your family and friends to vote as well. If we don’t get involved and stay active to keep our elected officials accountable, there will never be change.

23/10/2022

Took the day off to come to the Jones orchard corn maze…this is one of our annual traditions every fall. Had to put my military map reading skills to the test a few times, but we made it thru 🤣

23/10/2022

Happy Sunday everyone…are you
ready for me to shake things up in Nashville?

After 4 days of early voting, 2136 voters in Tipton
county have cast their ballots. According to the
Tennessee Secretary of State, turnout is down almost
50% from the 2018 midterms. If this continues, that
means I can be your next state rep with only 4000 or
so votes.

We can totally do this! All it takes is to get out and
vote. Tell your friends why you support me as your
candidate. Together, we can change how our
government works and actually bring change. We have
another week and a half of early voting, and then
Election Day is November 8th. Please tell your friends
to get out and vote. This election will be decided by
those who show up.

22/10/2022

Hot take…if you’re only reasoning for voting for one candidate is because the other person is “bad”….your candidate probably isn’t much better.

22/10/2022

Day 4 of early voting…we had 675 votes in Tipton county yesterday and 48 in Haywood. Today I wanted to give a brief history lesson. George Washington had a pretty serious warning as he was leaving office. The two party system is the root cause of most of the issues we face today. We must put people over politics and elect representatives who will follow the will of the people.
