BIBLE STUDY – THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST
The Bible tells us the Second Coming of Jesus Christ will be loud, bright and glorious!
The sky will be filled with Angels, the Lord Himself will shout, the trumpet of God will be blasting, the dead in Christ will rise up out of their graves; the living righteous will rise up from the earth, and together they will all meet the Lord in the air. Jesus will be coming in His own glory, and the glory of His Father, the heavens will be on fire, the elements will be melting, and every human being will see this glorious event with their own eyes:
“When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:” Matthew 25:31.
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17.
“For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.” Matthew 16:27.
“For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” Matthew 24:27.
“And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Matthew 24:30.
“Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.” Revelation 1:7.
It is the day of the Lord’s second coming that is unexpected - as a thief in the night - not the loud, bright and glorious events that surround the Lord’s second coming:
“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?” 2 Peter 3:10-12.
