As we continue to experience the impact of Hurricane Milton, I want to reassure the residents of the City of Deltona, Florida that we will face this challenge together.

I am committed to being out in the community, not just in City Hall, and am assembling a team of volunteers to join me in providing support to those in need once the storm has passed.

Here's our afternoon update for Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Our Emergency Operations Center is now active. Report flooding and wind damage to our Citizen Information Center 24 hours a day at 386-402-7675.

Power Outages

New Smyrna Beach Utilities will respond to power outages as conditions allow. View real-time outage information at www.nsbufl.com/outages. To report a power outage or partial outage, call 386-427-1366.

Solid Waste

Waste Pro trucks will run regular collection routes on Wednesday, Oct. 9 but not on Thursday, Oct. 10. The makeup day for Thursday will be Saturday, Oct. 12. Residents should keep their household waste and recycling in a secure place until the storm passes.

Sandbags

Access to sand piles and fillable bags is now closed. Residents received over 70,000 sandbags since the city's distribution site opened on Saturday, Oct. 5.

Closures

Non-emergency city offices and public facilities are closed until Friday, Oct. 11.
