This is so beautiful ❤️

This man was forced to give his dog to Humane Society due to lengthy hospital stay. This nurse went to the shelter and adopted his dog. She brings him to visit daily & will return him as soon as the man is released! Be the light in this world, even through the dark times ❤️

🏔️Our mountain communities have been overwhelmed with the recent snow storms and now with atmospheric rain coming, many families still need your help. Every little bit helps. When I called the resource center, the volunteer told me they needed canned goods, cup of noodles, water, baby formula/food, hygiene items, pet food, etc.

If you would like more information, contact the Storm Response Call Center at (909) 387-3911. Thank you Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for posting on Facebook.💙

Finding Comfort in Hospice Care: How to Know When You Need It and What Benefits it Can Provide

If you or a loved one are facing a life-limiting illness, hospice care can be an invaluable source of comfort and support. Hospice care provides comprehensive medical, emotional, and spiritual care in order to help individuals live their remaining days with dignity and compassion. But understanding when hospice care is needed - as well as what services it offers - can be confusing. In this article, we’ll explore how hospice care works and the benefits it can provide.

1. What is hospice care and why is it important?

Hospice care is an approach to medical care designed for those who have a life-limiting condition and have decided not to pursue curative treatment. It focuses on providing comfort, dignity, and pain management rather than aggressively treating the underlying illness. Hospice services include comprehensive support for both physical and emotional needs, as well as spiritual and psychological counseling. Additionally, hospice also provides access to durable medical equipment (DME) such as wheelchairs, oxygen or beds that can help make life more comfortable.

2. Signs That a Family Might Need Hospice Care

Families may recognize that hospice care could be beneficial when they start to notice a decline in their loved one’s health. This can include increased hospitalizations, difficulty performing everyday activities and tasks, or an inability to manage pain. Other signs that hospice might be appropriate include fatigue or exhaustion, changes in behavior or mood, and a decreased appetite.

3. Benefits of Hospice Care for Families

Hospice care offers many benefits for families, including access to hospice-specific durable medical equipment (DME) such as oxygen, wheelchairs, beds, and walkers. This can help make life more comfortable for those with limited mobility or energy levels. Additionally, hospice provides home health aides who can assist with personal care needs such as bathing and grooming. Lastly, hospice services include pain management support which can help alleviate anxiety and distress associated with a terminal illness.
By providing comprehensive end-of-life care including medical support, emotional counseling, and spiritual guidance, hospice helps families find comfort in the face of difficult circumstances.

4. How to Find the Right Hospice Care Provider

Finding the right hospice provider is essential to ensure that you or your loved one receives the care they need. It’s important to find a hospice provider who has experience caring for those with similar conditions and understands your needs. Additionally, you should feel comfortable with the hospice team and trust that they have your best interest at heart.

Ultimately, hospice care can be an invaluable source of comfort and support for those facing a life-limiting illness. By understanding when hospice care is needed - as well as what services it offers - families can find peace of mind knowing that their loved one will receive compassionate, personalized care during this challenging time.

If you think hospice might be right for you or a loved one, don’t hesitate to contact me today.

Random Acts of Kindness Day -
February 17th, 2023

Here are some suggestions that we should strive to do EVERYDAY! It's free and it's kind.🫂

1.) Help an elderly neighbor or patient take out their trash, clean their house or mow their lawn.

2.) Let the person in line at the grocery store behind you go ahead of you.

3.) Demonstrate kindness toward other drivers by signaling them with a pleasant smile and a friendly wave.

4.) Sit next to someone who is sitting alone at a restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

5.) Smile and open the door for someone.
