Training should be fun and rewarding! Dna came back on Xena and she is part German Shepherd, Pyrenees , mix, and Husky. And while this doesn’t change a whole lot, it does give us insight into that Xena is a working dog so we will tailor her training according to that at times. I’ve used this cue for over 25 yrs with my own dogs. It’s so important to have your dog focus on you in times of need. Miss Ginger took her mom for a ride on leash when she tried to chase a squirrel. So to help that, we trained watch me and then will pair it with “look at that.”. So instead of dragging mom, we will give Ginger the look cue to view the squirrel but then immediately watch mom for a treat. It’s a win win for all.
