Happy Labor Day from the Palmera team! We’re enjoying a day off, but excited to get back to serving our community.

It’s been a week! Between weather, learning machinery, equipment, getting taken over by the mobile steak salesman and unknowns that we can’t prepare for - our team still has shown up and done what’s needed - the first picture shows the importance of teamwork and looking out for each other. Based on the Treasure Coast of Florida, Palmera Construction specializes in quality marine construction. Palmera Construction is a one-stop shop for any coastal construction services such as boat lifts, docks, upland development, permit services, and marina construction and development.

•Crew Lead
•Barge / Crew Labor

Duties/Responsibilities:

Palmera Construction is looking for a marine construction worker with experience. Familiarity with structures, docks, seawalls, and carpentry work. Understand equipment, processes, and tools commonly used. Ability to work with steel, concrete, lumber, and other construction materials. Valid driver’s license required. Willingness to travel outside of the local area as needed. Will be working in and around water. You MUST BE hard working, reliable, and have reliable transportation. This is a physically demanding job, but very rewarding.

-Marine construction, building construction, carpentry, or framing experience preferred (on the job or in school)
-Read, understand, and build according to construction plans
-Utilize various tools and equipment safely and efficiently to construct docks, seawalls, and marinas.
-Efficiently execute tasks such as: digging and installing, carpentry, decking, electric, etc.
-Work with other crew personnel in a safe, organized, productive, and enjoyable work environment treating everyone with dignity and respect
-Some on the job training provided with the opportunity to learn welding, crane operating, barge driving, removal/installation of boat lifts.

Required Skills and Abilities:

-Experience with seawalls is highly preferred.
A valid driver’s license is mandatory; Class A CDL is desired.
-Ability to lift a minimum of 75+ pounds and climb heights
-Available to work 9-10 hours during peak construction season.
-Ability to take direction
-Produce quality work in an efficient manner
-Willingness to maintain and operate construction tools in a safe and proper manner
-Good verbal and communication skills.
-Must be willing to work outside in the elements. -Ability to swim.
-Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
-Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans.
-Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions to resolve problems effectively.
-Education and Experience:

-High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
-Minimum 1-year experience and/or schooling in the construction industry.
-Drivers License

Our crew did an awesome job on this quick 8 Post installed right before Christmas! This 32,000 pound lift is prefect for the area and larger boats down the road.

It’s National Tradesmen Day - a day to be thankful for local tradesmen and celebrate the essential services they provide.

Here at Palmera we have a team of tradesmen including installers, carpenters, divers, and foremen who build seawalls, docks, and more for customers all along the Treasure Coast.

Our tradesmen are the foundation of our company. They work all day outside in various weather conditions, care about the quality of their work, and love bringing a customer’s vision for their property to life. Being a tradesman takes tenacity, grit, and skill. We are grateful for each and every one of our men and women in the field!

The new workhorse is finally on the water and she’s a beast! Look for her in the Stuart, FL area and beyond!
