Day 3 of my 3-day book tour I read my books at The C.M. Russell Museum. I’ve been visiting this museum since I was a kid so this was a surreal experience! The event also featured the coloring pages from my books, I passed out bookmarks and stickers to the kids, and signed copies of Roundup Rodeo! Kristie, thanks for the great event! Day 2 of my 3-day book tour I signed books at The Blue Rose (https://www.facebook.com/bluerosestyles/) in Great Falls, MT during their annual Christmas Stroll. I had a blast meeting so many people especially Jennifer and her cute nephews and new friend Lisa! The weather was a frigid 1 degree so thank you to all who braved the cold to buy my books! I’m back from my book tour in Montana! I will be posting photos of each event daily this week. Day 1 of 3 I surprised the first graders at Whittier Elementary in Butte, MT. I read my three picture books and the students conducted a Q&A with me about the publishing and writing process. Their questions were very smart! Pictured is me reading to the group. I also got to surprise two of my cousins at the event. Thanks to Mollie for having me surprise them!

"I loved the sheer energy of this book as Ella grabs her new red umbrella and rushes out to enjoy the rainstorm. It’s an enjoyable trip for the reader, too, as they join Ella on her energetic journey to the finale of the story when the storm ends and a rainbow appears. The rhyming text is perfectly complemented by the colourful illustrations. In fact, the text and the pictures flow along together beautifully from page to page. The little details are gorgeous, such as in the repeated refrain ‘as the rain drops a capella’ where some of the falling raindrops are pictured as musical notes. It’s the perfect book to read aloud to a young child, and one can imagine any child very quickly picking up on the rhymes and joining in as the story fizzes along at breakneck speed."
