This red oak was starting to show decay at the base and begin to sway heavily in the wind. So we immediately removed it from their back yard so the kids could play safely and the parents could have some peace of mind knowing this tree wasn’t going to come down on the play scape. Give us a call for any of your tree removal needs!

The American Chestnut, Castanea dentata.
This tree once dominated portions of the eastern U.S. forests, numbering nearly 4 billion and was among the largest, tallest, and fastest growing in the forests. Early settlers soon learned that the chestnut tree had rot-resistant properties, straight-grained, and suitable for building material. In the late 1800's, a deadly blight from Asia was introduced. Roughly, in the span of 50 years, the pathogen (Cryphonectria parasitica) reduced the American chestnut from its invaluable role to a tree that now grows mostly as an early-successional-stage shrub.

This Customer was doing heavy renovations on an older home that they had recently purchased. They hired us to clean up and clear out the front yard to make it look more presentable to the lovely neigborhood that they are now apart of. We discovered a heavy amount of rot on this maple tree and the homeowner agreed to taking it down to avoid future issues. We also cleared a small elm tree crowding the service wire that runs inbetween the maple and small vine covered elm tree.
