We really enjoyed working with Vesel, especially with the difficulty we've had just finding companies to do work on other projects, let alone schedule around their availability. Our project was a remodeled basement (carpet, some walls, paint, etc. due to a broken septic line between two section of our home. We were very happy they could fit us in relatively quickly after another company did the pipe repairs. Michael was clear and upfront with the project details, the team were polite and clear on what they needed and how long things would take. Overall a good experience and I would for sure recommend Vesel to others in the area.

On this recently completed project, the porch roof was ready to fall off! This was an accident waiting to happen. The Vesel Construction team removed the roof, demo'd the failing concrete deck and concrete steps. Proud of the results!

As Americans, we’ve learned the value of hard by working hard!

It happens to many of us! We go out to enjoy our deck or porch and right away you know something isn't right. Here are a few signs that your deck is either pulling away from the house or it's sinking:
1. A window won’t open properly
2. There are cracks forming on the floor or ceiling
3. The stairs don’t line up correctly
4. And more ...

Take a look through these photos that show new footings, ledger and bracing not to mention the high quality attention we pay to brackets. We use brackets because even treated wood in the ground will rot and brackets are an important step we take because we pride ourselves on high standards.

Do you have old drafty windows that are increasing your energy bill? Here's how to replace a window:

1. Do you need full replacement or an insert? (Photos are of an insert window project )
2. Measure the window's pocket opening
3. Removes the old window sashes if you can
4. Clean the old window sashes
5. Clean the opening to remove
6. Clean, apply flashing tape (it should fit the length of the sill) and the install
7. Dry- fit the window and apply sealant
8. Place the window in the opening
9. Plumb and level before foam
10. Apply spray foam insulation
11. Fit the sill
12. Paint the molding

---- FIRE DAMAGE RESTORATION PROJECT ----
When a neighbor’s fire spreads to your home, your homeowner’s insurance will cover your damages. In this case, our customer's insurance paid to have the entire roof done as well as the siding on the house.

The entire house was affected by the fire next door and the subsequent restoration construction so it was an opportunity for the homeowners to cross off some projects on their to-do list:
- Replaced three windows.
- Moved the front door to the back of the house.
- Enlarged the front door opening to install a larger 36" door in its place.
- Added new exterior lights.
- Rewrapped the garage door metal trim complete with new weatherstrip.

I would like to start off by saying this is the second time I have used Vesel Construction. The first time was because of an unfortunate garage incident which we won't get into details about! 🤣 The second time was for my new deck which was added onto the side of my garage.

From the start of both projects, I met with Mike. He's not your regular pushy "salesman." But someone who truly looks out for the customers best interest. He offered suggestions which I didn't think of and opened my eyes to other options. Mike is down to earth, and very easy to work with. I appreciate his honesty.

Brian was here for my first project. I spoke with him many times throughout. He's a hardworking guy with a great personality. He truly takes pride in the work he does. Brian does not cut corners and made sure the job was completed to my specifications. He is a great asset to this company! He is a major reason for my second call.

What is a carriage house? If you are thinking it has something to do with horses, you’re on the right track.

These are project photos from a real carriage house in Duluth that suffered a water loss! There was a freeze-up, then a boiler burst, and then … ugh … water leaked all over!!

When you have an historic building that at some point housed horses, carriages, and sometimes even a stableman: you want a restoration contractor that appreciates the value of a renovated carriage house. Just as homeowners like to preserve crown molding or other unique architectural details, many carriage houses have been restored and modified for another use. In this case, this carriage house was renovated into a guest house: and that, adds a lot of value to a property!

We have stories. We have so, so many photos that go along with these stories … makes it hard to pick from hundreds of images that tell the story of fire restoration.

Here's a few photos. They tell only part of the story. Our client, Cabot Properties owns multiple properties in the Northland. One of their rentals had a fire in the bedroom: cause unknown.

The fire damage photos are from the original inspection. The photos of the actual work and completion are from February of 2021. Boots on the ground: this project was completed in three months.
