Our charcuterie lunch
Wichita Wildlife Refuge
The Holy City of the Wichitas
Mount Scott
Medicine Park Aquarium
Had great trip to Medicine Park, Oklahoma for Aquarium program, drove up Mount Scott (sone people hike but too hot, mid to upper 80s, upper 20s C and humid), saw local Wildlife preserve with their bison herd, and a locally attraction called The Hoky City of the Wichitas. Medicine Park is known as Oklahoma's first true resort town with quaint cobblestone buildings. Tge layer in day had small campfire for s'mores and older girls made homemade pizza fir dinner, after designing a xharcuterie/snacklebox lunch.
Made Father's Day crafts this weekend. Made paper and dried tgen folded in half to create the cards. Jar is water bottle cut to make the bowl or vase. Hot glue button ot 2 half-dome wooden pieces for the reel and glue on. Wrap twine around the reel and them glue onto a bamboo skewer (Sharp side down) to make the fishing pile and stick in Styrofoam pieces. I had glass rocks to decorate over foam. Glue smaller skewer or cut in half to back of candy bars and stick in. Payday cuz dad's pay bills, Mr Goodbar cuz hrs a good guy. Mini or full size snickers for Dad jokes and add to gift bag package of Swedish fish fir the theme and sprinkle Hersheys kisses in bag around the whole thing.
Had great meeting about the eclipse! I was lucky to be in area of totality and showed my girls pictures. Where we meet they got 95% of totality, so just hazy looking.
Also talked about Earth Day coming up. Gave them a scavenger hunt, though we did two steps in the meeting. They drew pictures of different spring flowers and we took water bottles and cut almost half way down and all the way through. This allowed them to pu items like pencils or jewelry inside and then just scrunch up the bottom half inside the top half. (Leave lid on the bottle). That was making art or fun from something alot of people throw away. They took home to decorate as art.
Had a great cookie sale! Sold out! Celebrated with a great Easter party. Made twinkle and peeps car racer with iced pretzel for steering wheel and iced to milk duds. Just use a spoon to hollow put one end to put peep (bunny or chick) or they'll try to cut off ends, haha!
Bridging to Brownies finished retired badge Animals in the Wild by making frisring and coconut eggs with melted milk balls Robin eggs. I had them decorate Easter bags with axolotl stickers. Oruebtal Trading had Easter o n es plus I had some from cookie sale. Then parent volunteer filled up with chocolates, chapstick, multi ink color pens, etc. While they were doing edible crafts. Even Cadettes liked it!
Next trip end of next month trip to osteology museum with a scavenger hunt. Then bridging and end of year trip.
World Thinking Day is tomorrow, so will post those pictures. Our country was Scotland. We focused on how they are reducing and sustainable hability in troop meetings, and our WAGGS them is thw gender pay gap and how girls are addressing that, tho Scotland has pretty much already addressed, as their gender pay gap is down to 3% (men still making more), but better than England at 11.9% and other countries, including U.S. Daisies liked that their national animal waa voted to be a unicorn!
Valentine meeting I found a valentine tree, we are taking small floral tree looking cones and glue dotting hearts in layers and then sticking a sparkly heart pick on top and then tying a Valentine ribbon around. Those picks will be after the 13th meeting.
Here is the nametag for my troops "business" very reasonable and I think it's cute!
Troop Cookie booth t-shirts turned out great! Got direct to transfer design from Facebook Girls Love Scouting and used my heat pressc(recommended). Used business clips and business card holders to make business tags woth axolotl and logo, since this is tgwir business and cost only $5 for a dozen plus printer ink at home!
Got all the paperwork in for parents of my Scouts in here for them to take cookies with them and money envelope. They get cookies tomorrow!
Had a great Christmas glampout in Bricktown and Midtown in OKC, with crafts, pizza, indoor snowball fight and a couple games. Saran wrap game with oven mits and oversize dice is always a hit! Then, council recruiting event with crafts galore! We did simple snowman snowglobe ornaments that were a hit from all ages, older girls helping and parents wanted to do them, too! The googly eyes were self adhesive, used glue dots on scarves and marketed inside of lid for the hat
Food craft for meeting with oreos and candy corn. Unscrew oreos and push corn into the creme before putting back on. Then use dab of frosting for edible eyes (Walmart or craft store in cake decorating aisle). Iused autumn mix for varied tailgaters and the loose pumpkins.
Thanksgiving approaching here in U.S. quick door hangers craft with most supplies (except googly eyes and glue dots, i got those from Walmart) from Dollar Tree. Older girls could use glue guns with supervision. Precut colored craft sticks for easy craft at meeting.
Decorated lunch bags for our 7th annual Boo Bags for local ERs. 25 regular and 5 sugar free per ER, for 3 local ERs. To be given put in case child ends up at ER instead of going trick or treating and also if staff can't take kids or kids are unable to trick or treat due to illness or parent working, staff can take home to the child or children. Will fill bagsc2oth candy and toys then staple our Boo Bag card and troop number, then girls will take woth their parents to the ERs. We also did swaps. Girls took 2 identical stickers, put together to make 2 aided, then attached to a safety pin. Easy peasy!
More of the ditty bags we made. These used Walmart Halloween buckets, just cut off the rim so hole puncher can reach onto the sides.
