Hurricane prep for your pool area!
Now that we are in "that season" you may want to just have in the back of your head, some things to do to prepare if and when a hurricane is threatening.

• Do not empty the water out of the pool or cover the pool.
• Turn off your pool equipment like pump motors, pool lighting, automatic chlorinators, and heaters. Protect them with heavy plastic if you can.
• Remove all loose furniture, pool boxes, toys, etc and store them in your garage or shed for safe keeping.
• Add extra chlorine or we can do that for you leading to the storm.

Owning a business is one of the hardest challenges my husband and I have ever faced.

Everyone says it’s the American dream, and in many ways, it is pretty great. We can employ people and essentially support their families.

However, the ugly truth is the challenges we face with people—the rudeness, sarcasm, threats, and belittling, to name a few. Nowadays, many people have become keyboard warriors, using social media to tear others down and “ruin” them.

Do you know how hard most small business owners work? It’s far from a traditional 40-hour week. It may not be brain surgery or Olympic training, but it’s incredibly demanding.

It’s tough to see online criticism of your business from someone who didn’t take your advice for a needed repair or service, or when a client fakes being asleep to “test” a technician, or when someone states your service is too expensive but then bashes you all over social media, or when you’re criticized for being too fast, despite having professional equipment and training.

With over a decade of experience in our craft, it’s frustrating to receive snarky comments like, “I need to change my career” or “I went into the wrong profession” because you diagnose issues quickly, to be threatened with social media bashing if we don’t comply with demands, or to hear that a particular technician’s presence is unwelcome at a client's home.

We all deserve respect and decency. Neither of us is better than the other.

At Edge Pools, we will do our best. We will own up to our mistakes because, after all, we are human.

This isn’t a post to complain or seek help. It’s simply a glimpse into the challenges we face, and perhaps, an eye-opener to be more conscious of your actions.
